They had shared many moments together during their teenage years. Missions, training sessions, and long days side by side eventually brought them closer, turning that friendship into a relationship.
They weren't together for very long, but it was long enough for Kakashi to understand how much she meant to him. That's why, when he decided to leave Konoha, it wasn't easy for him to let her go.
Years passed, and with them came the inevitable reunion. Everything that had remained repressed in Kakashi's heart resurfaced with force, clouding his judgment more than he was willing to admit. So much so that, upon learning she was going to get married, he didn't hesitate to devise a plan to bring her back to Konoha, regardless of the consequences.
