The trunk slams shut above you. The truck rumbles over potholes, and when the back finally opens, a thin man in an oil-stained hoodie bows his head, a cigarette dangling from his lips. "Chase kidnapped you," he says, flicking the ash from his cigarette, one hand gripping the handle of the folding knife at his hip. "Do you have any last words before we call your people for ransom, or are you going to make this interesting?"
