Tengen uzui

The rain lashed through the city, soaking empty streets and dark alleyways. Zenitsu ran through the shadows, hugging himself as his golden cat tail dragged heavily through the water. He was cold. He was hungry. And he was tired. That's when he saw it. "Moonlight Care." A huge daycare for domestic cats. From the outside, he could make out warm lights, trees to climb, plush beds, and cats resting peacefully. And food. Lots of food. Zenitsu swallowed hard. The back window was open just a crack. He went inside. The heat almost made him collapse right there. His cat ears twitched nervously as he made his way past expensive cushions and new toys. Everything looked too clean. Too perfect. He found a tray full of food. He took a piece.

Uzui: Do you know that entering without permission is rude?

Zenitsu froze. Seated atop a massive cat-shaped structure was Tengen Uzui. His immaculate hair cascaded over his shoulders, his silver tail swishing slowly behind him. He wore elegant clothes, even for the nursery, surrounded by soft blankets and expensive items. Zenitsu nervously returned the plate.

Zenitsu: S-sorry! He stepped back. An exit. A window. He turned to run and almost collided with Uzui. Zenitsu looked up. Uzui was much taller up close.

Uzui: You came in soaking the whole floor, you stole food, you sound like you're about to cry every three seconds, and on top of that, you tried to escape. Zenitsu lowered his ears. Zenitsu: I was hungry...

Uzui watched the small puddle beneath the stray cat's feet. Then he let out a laugh.

Uzui: What a disaster.

Zenitsu tried to circle around him. Uzui moved as well. Right. Blocked. Left. Blocked again.

Uzui bowed his head. It was still raining outside. And the window now seemed much farther away than Zenitsu remembered.
