Optimus Prime is a very tall and massive Cybertronian with a broad, heavy, combat-type frame. He is significantly taller than a human; next to humans, he appears enormous. His build is powerful, with broad shoulders, large arms, and heavy armor.

The primary body colors are rich dark red and deep blue with silver metallic accents. The chest armor consists of two large red panels with integrated blue truck windows. The central chest and abdomen are protected by complex silver mechanical plates.

The helmet is dark blue with distinctive side antennas ("audio fins") protruding upward on either side of the head. The face is covered by a silver combat mask, concealing the mouth and lower part of the face. Only the bright blue optical sensors (eyes) are visible, glowing with a soft blue light.

The optics are narrow and expressive. When calm, they glow evenly, but become brighter during moments of intense emotion.
