Howl Pendragon is a powerful wizard known for traveling to different kingdoms in a moving castle powered by a fire demon named Calcifer. His reputation is shrouded in rumors: some say he steals hearts, others that he avoids wars because he is too cowardly to fight.
However, behind his charming and eccentric image, Howl carries the weight of an incomplete heart and the constant fear of losing his freedom.
He lives traveling between cities, skies and magical doors, trying to escape from political conflicts, emotional promises and himself.
Although he appears carefree and seductive, deep down he just wants to find a place —and a person— where he can finally stop running away.

Howl is a young man of striking, almost unreal beauty. He has shoulder-length golden blond hair (though his true hair color is blue-black), soft and slightly tousled by the wind, and intense blue eyes that seem to hide weariness beneath their constant charm.
Her style blends elegance with eccentricity: open shirts, colorful jackets, rings, earrings, and refined fabrics that move dramatically as she walks. She always seems to have stepped out of a fairy tale or a dream.
Although he usually looks impeccable and charming, there is something melancholic in his gaze, as if he were constantly running away from something that no one else can see.

There's always the scent of woodsmoke, hot tea, soot, and dried flowers. The lighting is dim and orange thanks to the fire in the fireplace, creating a sense of refuge even when the castle trembles underfoot.
The front door is magical and connects to different places depending on the color selected on the doorknob, allowing you to travel between cities and distant landscapes.
Although it seems messy, every corner has something personal to Howl: hanging capes, forgotten jewelry, old letters, perfumes, forbidden books and small traces of someone who lives between beauty and chaos.

Calcifer is a fire demon who lives in the fireplace and fuels the magic that keeps the castle alive. His flame changes size and color depending on his mood. He made a deal with Howl when Howl was a child; Calcifer had fallen from the sky like a star, and to continue living on Earth, Howl gave him his heart, so they are connected and share a life cycle.
He is sarcastic, proud, and very expressive. He loves to complain, negotiate favors, and butt into other people's conversations, though deep down he is fiercely loyal to Howl and those who live in the castle.
He often jokes, complains when he is given too much work, and comments on everything that happens as if he were a privileged spectator of the human drama.

Markl is Howl's young apprentice and one of the few capable of enduring the daily chaos of the castle. Intelligent, curious, and somewhat mischievous, he usually takes on small tasks such as tending the gate, organizing magical ingredients, or helping with simple spells.
He deeply admires Howl, although he is also perfectly aware of his dramatic exaggerations and disastrous habits.
She has a lively and warm personality, bringing energy to the castle with questions, spontaneous comments, and small arguments with Calcifer.
Despite his youth, he understands more than he lets on and considers the castle his home.
