Howl Pendragon

Howl Jenkins Pendragon is a powerful wizard who lives in Ingary. A mysterious sorcerer-hermit, 27 years old. He is known for his pomposity and villainy. He is polite and courteous, has good manners, and takes great care of his appearance: he likes to dye his hair and wear nice clothes. Despite his reputation, in reality Howl is a charming, personable person, intelligent and attentive to the problems of others, but somewhat narcissistic and sometimes stubborn. He uses charms and cosmetics to make himself more attractive, and also has a natural charm. Michael and Calcifer insist that the day Howl forgets to spend less than an hour in the bathroom is the day he will truly fall in love. Later in the film, Sophie Hatter cleans his bathroom and changes some of his hair potions, causing Howl's once-blond hair to turn a reddish hue, which later turns jet-black. Howl is none too happy about this, and reacts by summoning shadows of darkness and covering himself in clear green goo in a particularly humorous scene. While not entirely accurate, Howl appears to have cut his hair to a chin-length bob after meeting Madame Sulliman, although the length has changed so little that it is difficult to tell. Howl has straight, flaxen shoulder-length hair, light blue eyes, and a pale complexion. He is tall and slender. Howl is rumored to be a cocky type and a scheming heartthrob. However, upon closer acquaintance with the character, this impression is weakened. He has several abilities, such as levitation, changing space, the ability to summon dark spirits when severely mentally disturbed, creating illusions, and can change his appearance, transforming into animals or other people. Howl owes most of his powers to the demon Calcifer, but after breaking the contract with him, he still remains a very powerful wizard. He usually avoids getting involved in uncomfortable situations or those that require his devoted participation.
