Guardian Lion

Kion is an almost ordinary lion cub, far from being a child, but close to adolescence. While similar in appearance to Simba, Kion bears a striking resemblance to Mufasa, his grandfather.

Like Mufasa, Kion is larger and more powerfully built than Simba, with broader shoulders and a broader jaw. His base coat is a light gold, several shades lighter than his father's, with his muzzle, toes, and underbelly lighter. His claws were white, later turning black. His still-growing mane is very thick, combed back, and bright red, as is the tuft on his tail. Kion's upper eyelids are darker than his base coat, while his lower eyelids are lighter. From Simba, he inherited the dark rims on his ears and orange-brown eyes. The rims of his ears are black on top and brown on the sides. Kion has spots on the backs of his paws and previously bore the Lion Guard mark on his left shoulder. He can also use the Roar of the Ancestors.

In the third season, Kion grew even more mature, his muscle mass increased, his muzzle became more elongated, and his voice cracked slightly. In "Battle for the Pride Lands," Scar orders Ushari to attack Kion, after which the cobra scars Kion's left eye. Scar remarks on how similar he and Kion now look, singing "Sisi Ni Sawa."

Kion, unlike his father, respects rules, obeys his parents, and is good at recognizing potential danger. He has a well-developed sense of responsibility. However, Kion is still a cub and enjoys playful fights with his friends. He can be careless and doesn't understand concepts like romance.

Kion's word of admiration is the Swahili phrase "Hevi kabisa!", which was translated as "Savannah sky!" in the official Russian localization.

Although Kion isn't well-versed in adult life, he's strong-willed and trusts his instincts well. He can communicate with his grandfather, Mufasa, but only when no one else is around. Kion follows his heart, even when those he loves oppose him. His imagination knows no bounds, likely due to his simple nature and ability to see all sides of a situation. This is evident when he's searching for members of the Lion Guard. Instead of following tradition and choosing lions, Kion evaluates all aspects of the job and chooses animals more suited to the task. Even when his ideas are challenged, he remains firm in his convictions and is brave enough to defend what he believes is right.

Banga is a fairly small but sturdy honey badger. He has small paws and generally rounded features. Banga has grayish-blue fur with dark patches on his chest, and a stripe of white fur extending from his head to the tip of his tail. His face is a mixture of colors, from the bright pink of his ears to the dark shades of his shaggy eyebrows. His nose is dark brown, and his eyes are blue-black. A notable feature of Banga's appearance is his large, protruding white teeth.

Bunga's life philosophy is "Zaka-Zama" (unlike his uncles and Hakuna Matata), which encourages enjoying life's chaos and throwing himself into any situation, regardless of the danger. Unlike his best friend Kion, who is used to following the rules, Bunga prefers freedom of action and independence from all rules. He is characterized by rebelliousness, passion, and a love of freedom. It's rare for Bunga to be serious and diligent, as he is always full of energy and enthusiasm. Perhaps because of this nature, he often gets into trouble.

Bunga considers himself superior and therefore rarely listens to his friends' advice, especially in dangerous situations. His impatience and hot-tempered behavior create a great deal of chaos, as Bunga has difficulty controlling his emotions, and his stubbornness only escalates tension in various dangerous situations. Furthermore, Bunga disrespects authority, calling Simba a "big old cat." This quality only complements Bunga's impetuous nature. Despite all his negative qualities, Bunga is valued for his excessive bravery, friendliness, and kindness, which is why he held the position of bravest in the Lion Guard. However, many (like Kiara) believe his bravery borders on insanity. Besides his fearlessness and considerable agility, Bunga's weapon is a foul odor, which he learned from his uncle Pumbaa.

Fuli is a graceful, slender cheetah. She has a lean, graceful, slender body and yellow (even poisonous) fur dotted with dark brown spots and specks. Her muzzle, underbelly, toes, and the circles around her eyes are cream-colored. Fuli has large, almond-shaped, pupil-less green eyes, rich brown edging on her ears, and white fangs. A cheetah pattern similar to Fuli's is called "king cheetah."

Fuli is a bit willful and independent. She prefers solitude, but agrees to work in a team. She can disagree with Kion's decisions, which sometimes gets her into trouble. Her speed can easily stun opponents, and she's not afraid to speak her mind, even to her friends. While Fuli can be a bit sarcastic or brash, she never abandons her loved ones in trouble.

It is a fairly large bird, milky white in color. Its head has a "crown" of feathers that transition from bright orange to lighter. Its beak is light orange. Its eyes are dark blue. The feathers on its wings are three colors: light gold, pale orange, and milky white. On its left wing was the distinctive emblem of the Lion Guard. Its legs are two-toned: black on top and orange underneath.

Calm and calculating. He prefers facts and speaks often in them. He studies his surroundings and maintains a small encyclopedia in his head, containing a wealth of information on many subjects. Despite this, he possesses a lion's share of theory and little practical experience, which does not prevent him from sharing his knowledge with others. He is characterized as an intellectual, capable of handling other animals with tact. He is a good and loyal friend who will do everything in his power to help.

Beshte is a large young hippopotamus, gray-blue in color. The lower part of the muzzle, chest, and belly are lighter. The muzzle is broad and rounded, with large nostrils and small ears. The eyes are blue. The body is massive and strong, with short, thick legs. The Lion Guard emblem is located on the left shoulder. The tail is short with a small tuft at the end.

CHARACTER "Beshte is the kindest of kind cats, but he's braver than all of us." - Kion about Beshte. He's also very sociable, cheerful, and knows everyone in the pride by name. Despite his kind nature, he can stand up for himself and others.

In "Battle for the Pride Lands," Janja and his clan are shown to be growing dissatisfied with constantly having to fight the Lion Guard to eat what they want, only to always lose and starve. Janja also becomes envious of how happy Jasiri and her clan are working with the Lion Guard. This causes Janja to begin to think he should accept Jasiri's previous offer to join her and that he's on the wrong side. After Janja attempts another of Scar's plans to destroy the Lion Guard, only to discover that Scar also plans to dispose of him and his clan for possible betrayal, Janja realizes Scar never cared about him and finally switches sides. After Scar is defeated, Janja proposes appointing Jasiri as leader of the Outlands. He also demonstrates a newfound respect for the circle of life and vows to stop any animal in the Outlands that tries to threaten it. He also cares for his clan and their safety. Janja is shown to have become kinder since his Reformation. He has also become more honest, stating that Jasiri is the one worthy of leading the Outlands, not him.

This is a very large bird. Its plumage is purple, with a light gray belly. The outermost feathers of its wings and tail are black. A crown of black feathers is on its head. Its beak is brownish-gray. Its eyes are yellow-blue. Its left wing once bore the distinctive Lion Guard crest. Its legs are two-colored: black and white striped. As a chick, its plumage was not as vibrant.

CHARACTER Anga is silent and reserved, keeping all her emotions to herself. The only exception is Hadithi. She is a big fan of his and strives to gain his approval. She is also not particularly sociable.

Janja is a smoky-gray male spotted hyena with black paws, ears, nose, and a black-and-beige tail. He has dark gray spots on his back and parts of his sides, and a beige belly. His muzzle is the same dark gray, with eye rims. His black mane has a jagged appearance. Janja's eyes are yellow, with black pupils and thick eyebrows.

Initially, Janja was a cruel, greedy, arrogant, and villainous hyena who had no interest in protecting the circle of life. He was shown to care only for himself, always ordering others to do his work for him. He thought only of getting his own food and didn't care if the rest of his clan starved, although he did allow them to eat. Janja often called other members of his clan "stupid," showing his disrespect for them. He often insulted and mocked them, but disliked being laughed at. He was ruthless and determined to kill as many animals as possible.

Janja's intellect is undeniable. He is a cunning and manipulative planner, always hatching new plots to defeat the Lion Guard or take over the Pride Lands. He is notably the only hyena in his clan who uses cunning to get what he wants. True to his name, Janja is very cunning and intelligent, though he sometimes has trouble grasping simple concepts. However, his plots have yet to fully succeed, due to guard interference and overlooked details. Janja also has a sense of humor and a love of wit; he enjoys cracking jokes and making clever remarks. Despite his ferocity and keen intellect, Janja is something of a coward, usually choosing to fight only when the odds are in his favor (when his clan has the advantage in numbers). He is also something of a sore loser in the face of defeat. Protecting his territory, he does not tolerate intruders and will attack those who invade his land. As shown in many episodes, Janja harbors a deep hatred for the Lion Guard, especially Kion and his roar. He also harbors a strong dislike and contempt for jackals, considering them "annoying" and considering their intelligence inferior to that of his own species.

Chungu's appearance is somewhat similar to Cheezi's. He has gray fur, a black "mane," darker spots and tan markings, and black socks. He stands out among other hyenas with his large build and furry cheeks. In addition to his powerful physical attributes, Chungu has a low, raspy voice. Cheesy is a medium-sized, medium-sized hyena, reminiscent of Ed from The Lion King. He has scruffy gray fur, a dark gray muzzle, several dark spots on his neck, black paws like all hyenas, a short black tail, shaggy black forelock, and a perpetually lolling tongue. Cheesy also has yellow eyes, sharp white teeth, and a large, sensitive pink nose. Cheesy is a bit of a dimwit. Despite frequent teasing, he remains loyal to his leader, Janja, and doesn't always understand his plans. He also loves good, filling food.

From the very beginning of the series, Janja has been shown to have deep admiration and respect for Scar. When Ushari informs him that Scar can be contacted, he immediately agrees to work with him to figure out how, which they ultimately succeed in doing. Since Scar's return, Janja has shown respect but also great fear of him. He also appears somewhat intimidated by Scar's new leadership over him and his clan, asserting to his minions that they must still listen to him, but still acknowledge Scar as their true master for fear of incurring his wrath.

However, in "The Hyena Resistance," when Jasiri saved his life, Janja at least showed some goodwill. Instead of despising her, he expressed great shock and confusion over why she helped him. Although Janja refuses her offer to join the hyena resistance, he hesitates for a moment, leaving Jasiri feeling confident that he will come to his senses in time. Only this moment causes the Skinks (who had been secretly watching) to doubt Janja's loyalty.
