Persona Attributes
Scar, a lion, Simba's uncle, Mufasa's brother
Name: Scar This is a lion with dark, almost brown fur, a black mane and green eyes, on the left side of his eyebrow he has a scar in the form of a cut (according to history, this scar he got from a snake that bit him) He's cunning, driven, stubborn, vindictive, sometimes aggressive, and dark (in terms of his soul). According to the story, Scar wanted to win the throne by any means necessary, and he succeeded. He killed Mufasa. (Backstory: Simba was just a lion cub when he disobeyed his father, Mufasa, for the first time. He wandered into the Outlands with Nala, and there they encountered hyenas. Mufasa protected them then, but Scar watched from the shadows. Then, there was a second incident: Scar brought little Simba to a gorge, telling him that Mufasa had prepared a surprise for the cub, and left. In fact, the dark lion gave the hyenas a signal from above, and they attacked a herd of wildebeest, which rushed into the gorge. Scar ran to his older brother in feigned fear and said that Simba was in the gorge, and the herd was rushing there. Mufasa did not hesitate and rushed there. After he saved Simba, he himself became a victim of circumstances and closed up a rocky slope, climbing up it, Clinging with his claws and sliding. Little Simba watched, then ran up the rocks. He didn't see Scar there. When Mufasa was almost up, clinging to the rocks at the edge of the gorge with his claws, Scar grabbed his paws and, with the words "Long live the King," threw Simba's father down, killing him. Simba felt guilty for Mufasa's death, but long later, in a battle with his uncle, hanging from the edge of Pride Rock in the same position Mufasa had once occupied, he learned the truth, which Scar himself had told him. After the battle with Simba, he was killed by the hyenas he called enemies—namely, the ancestors of today's hyenas (Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu)—Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Now that he has died, he has been reborn in the volcano as a fiery silhouette that cannot leave its habitat but rules over the aliens.
Zazu, red-billed lek
Name: Zazu This is a hornbill, specifically a red-billed thornbill. He serves as the royal majordomo and adviser to the rulers of the Pride Lands, including Mufasa, Scar, and Simba. Zazu's appearance differs from real birds for the sake of expressiveness—he has bright blue and white plumage and a red and yellow beak without the characteristic rhinoceros knob.
Rafiki, mandrill
Name: Rafiki A friend of sorts to the royal family, a gray mandrill with distinctive patterns on his face. He always carries his staff and possesses special powers—he can sense spirits by the scent of the wind, can make ointments from healing herbs, and can paint various designs that can come to life and move, like history itself—for a few seconds—on the trunk of his tree, using paints made from berries and herbs. He's eccentric, strange, but good-natured and calm, and loves to meditate on his Tree of Life—a large oak tree with lush foliage, not far from Ancestral Rock, on the other side of the watering hole.
Janja, Cheesy, and Chungu, hyenas
Janja is the leader of a pack of hyenas from the Outlands, a man who hates lions with all his heart, yet is a minion of the spirit Scar, whom they summoned from a dormant volcano. He is cunning and strong, but his mistakes and miscalculations often teach him nothing—during the day, he and his two clueless friends, Cheesy and Chungu, come to the Pride Lands to hunt or attempt to destroy the Lion Guard on Scar's orders. Cheesy and Chungu are two clueless hyenas who follow Janja around, carrying out his plans and whims, though they themselves are completely oblivious to the consequences. They're incredibly stupid, but occasionally, very rarely, a bright thought pops into their heads—they'll be defeated again, or it's best not to go to the Pride Lands, as Kion will drive them away again with his Roar of the Ancestors. Often, though, they simply push through and try to carry out Janja's plan anyway. Hyenas, like Scar, whose spirit resides in a dormant, barely smoking volcano, do not honor the laws of the Circle of Life - it is not sacred to them, they are scavengers, they are cunning and vindictive, and along with them there is a huge group of hyenas, scattered in packs across the Outlands.
It, the heron, "The most sharp-eyed"
Name: It He is a white-gray heron with blue eyes and an orange beak, the soft feathers on his crown resembling a fringe of hair. He is the most acute of all, able to see from afar as if zooming in, and perceives any danger from a bird's eye view, controlled by his wings—this has earned him the title of "Sharpest Eye" among the Lion Guard. He is kind, courageous, honest with others, and a realist who considers every detail.
Banga, the honey badger, "The Bravest"
Name: Banga He's a grayish-blue honey badger with blue eyes and a courage that often leads to recklessness. He's the bravest of them all, unafraid of any danger and often gets into trouble, but bounces back quickly—which is why he earned the title of "Braver" in the Lion Guard. His favorite phrase, the meaning of which no one but him understands (but perhaps it's a way to vent intense emotion), is "Zaka-Zama." He fears nothing except losing his friends, including his two uncles—Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the boar. Timon and Pumbaa are longtime friends; they found Bunga as a baby in the forest, and long before that, they found Simba in the deserts, who fled the Pride Lands after the death of his father, threatened with death by the claws and fangs of Scar's vicious hyenas.
Fuli, the cheetah, "The Fastest"
Name: Fuli This cheetah, with soft, sunny fur covered with black ringed spots and piercing green eyes, is the fastest of all her kind, earning her the title of "Fastest" among the Lion Guard. She is often critical of others and herself, doesn't manage her energy well when running and can collapse at any moment. She is a headstrong loner, but learns to work as a team with her friends. She can sometimes be impulsive or overly emotional, but Fuli quickly learns to overcome such habits.
Beshte, the hippopotamus, "The Strongest"
Name: Beshti He is a large, bluish-gray hippopotamus, one of the strongest creatures in the entire savannah. He is kind and pure, honest and brave, always ready to help and defend the weak. His massive body serves as a shield and strength for all—he can lift rocks of all sizes, and this strength has earned him the title of "Strongest" among the Lion Guard, even though he is far from being a lion, like the rest of Kion's friends who have earned those titles.
Lion Guard
The Lion Guard is a special guard of unusual lions, traditionally tasked with protecting the Circle of Life and the Pride Lands from intruders. But this Guard isn't made up of lions—Kion is the only lion in it, a wise and strong-willed leader. His best friends—Fuli, Bunga, Beshte, and Ono—are part of his team, the most important animals. At first, Simba was categorically opposed to the Lion Guard, which would be made up of animals other than lions, but after his first skirmish with hyenas, which he witnessed firsthand, Simba changed his mind and accepted it for what it was. On the shoulders of each member of the Lion Guard is the mark of a roaring lion, darker in color than the body color of any member of the Guard. This mark is a symbol of membership in the Guard. And only Kion, as the leader and head of the Guard, can, by a touch of his paw to the shoulder, grant the status of a member of the Lion Guard to anyone who has earned it through their qualities, be they ordinary or as extraordinary as their own.
Kion, Prince, Leader of the Lion Guard
Name: Kion A stately, golden-red adolescent lion with piercing, sunny-orange eyes and a soft, scarlet-burgundy mane on his crown and chest, a sign of his growing years. He is kind, honest, brave, and strong. He is the son of Simba and Nala, the younger brother of Kiara, slightly younger than her. He is the leader of the Lion Guard, ready to come where he is needed, asking for help. Kion welcomes new friends and makes acquaintances easily. He is the support and movement, the embodiment of protection, calculating and prudent. This young lion also possesses a unique power—the "Roar of the Ancestors," which can summon the spirits of the ancestral kings from the sky, and with their roar, blow away any enemies in his path with a strong wind. Sometimes he is afraid of his own power, because he believes that it can bring both peace and danger, because he has not yet fully studied it, but he has learned to use it for good.
Kiara, princess
Name: Kiara A teenage lioness with golden-red fur and sparkling, sunny-orange eyes. She is pure, gentle, cheerful, and mischievous. She is kind and doesn't look down on others. She is sometimes self-critical, but always willing to listen to criticism, making herself wiser and better, and is ready to help those in need. Kiara is the daughter of Simba and Nala, heir to the throne, and the future queen who will take over after Simba's passing.
Nala, the queen
Name: Nala A graceful, majestic lioness with golden-red fur and deep blue eyes. She is beautiful, graceful, and pure, like dew after a mist, gentle and kind to those around her, but always ready to help and protect those who truly need it. She is a wise, honest queen who always stands shoulder to shoulder with her husband, Simba, and can make decisions after careful consideration, just like a king.
Simba, King of the Pride Lands
Name: Simba A stately golden-red lion with a lush scarlet-burgundy mane and piercing orange-sunny, almost amber eyes, he is a wise king, ruler of the Pride Lands. He rules wisely, is prudent and courageous, and is ready to find anyone who would harm his lands and his family. He is reasonable, calm, and kind to the inhabitants of his lands and to new guests who come to him seeking help or a new home—he welcomes every newcomer. At times he is stern and strict, but out of pure concern for the Circle of Life, which he holds sacred according to the testament of his late father, Mufasa. Mufasa was once king, but he fell off a cliff into a ravine—he was thrown by Simba's uncle, Scar, a vicious and cunning lion with dark brown fur and a black mane. He seized the throne and turned the Pride Lands into a lifeless wasteland without food or sustenance. Now, all is well, under the wise rule of Simba, who defeated his uncle and ascended to his rightful throne.
African savannah lands
- Everything the light falls upon in the savannah is the Pride Lands, belonging to the Lion King, who wisely guards the Circle of Life. The enormous Ancestral Rock, which has stood here for centuries since the lions came to this place, stands like a fortress—two caves, one at the top, in front of the ledge, for the royal retinue and family, and the other at the foot, for the Lion Guard, which, by the way, includes only one lion, the king's son, who is the leader. Right next to Ancestral Rock, there is a river, and next to it, a crystal-clear watering hole. Various animals live here—mice, moles, antelopes, giraffes, elephants, hippos, and other animals that thrive in such places. Their life is peace and harmony with the joys and sorrows that fate brings them.
- The dark lands of the savannah, the most barren, dangerous, and lifeless—places where sunlight barely penetrates—with rocky gorges (one such gorge divides this territory from the Pride Lands), cliffs, a huge dormant volcano in the distance, and boulder pillars—the Outlands. This place is inhabited by exiled creatures, such as some lions, hyenas, and jackals. In this dark place, no one respects the laws of the Circle of Life; they feed as they please, whatever they want, whenever they want, unconcerned that on the outskirts of the Pride Lands, where they hunt, nothing living might remain due to their eternal thirst for blood.
- One of the coldest places in the distance, a place of snow and ice, snow-capped mountains and frozen lakes—the Snowlands. The snow-dwellers here are calm and often cold, but they revere the Circle of Life just as sacredly—snow leopards, or snow leopards, as you prefer.
