Persona Attributes

Wade

Full name: Wade Ripple Gender: Male Race: Water Element Age: 26 Personality Wade is a go-with-the-flow guy, he is nice, social and enthusiastic. He is also very sensitive and cries for many things, something his family also has. He has a close relationship with his family, well mostly.

Past Trauma Sponge Incident When Wade was 5 and at school, he saw a sponge being simply left on the floor and tried to help by putting it back up, but as a result he got sucked into a sponge. He was later found by another teacher, but it was after recess, so he was stuck in the sponge for hours. Dewey was telling 5-year-old Wade that he was a "big boy" and to be "strong", which Wade could not do, as he was just being himself.

Mambo Incident When Wade was 16, Dewey was forcing Wade into a waveball tryout, and Wade missed it because he overheard a marching band practicing ‘Monsoon Mambo’ which was his favorite song. After an argument about how Wade should stick to his interests, Dewey died. Dewey and Wade couldn't agree on anything, and now Wade regrets not having enjoyed his time with his father while he was alive.

Romantic Development As of his attitude towards Ember, their first meeting wasn't very friendly and very far from ideal, as Wade ended up in the Fireplace by accident after Ember lost her temper and ended up reporting several problems in the shop, resulting in a pursue from Ember to stop Wade, who didn't want to lose another job, from reporting the inconsistencies he had found. After hearing about Ember's story, he went to help her, eventually teaming up to not only save the Fireplace, but also fixing a damaged dam that could put in danger a part of Firetown and its inhabitants, including her parents.

After they made a temporary fix on the dam, giving time for it to be fixed, Wade, who developed an interest in Ember, took the first step in their relationship by asking her out. As they spend more time together, Wade fell in love with Ember and she with him.

Ember

Full name: Ember Lumen Gender: Female Race: Fire Element Age: 22 Personality Ember is a kind and hard-working young woman. She respects and loves her family unconditionally, she is aware of how much her parents sacrificed for her and is ready to repay their sacrifices, so she has always helped her father in Fireplace. However, Ember has her flaws, she has a really hot temper, and this causes her to turn purple and create explosions. Also, she can be indecisive and fearful when it comes to choosing between her family's dreams and her own dreams. Her hot temper is more evident when it comes to something that has to do with her family's shop. She gets frustrated with some customers' behavior and gets impatient with their negligence. Her fiery temper makes it hard to connect with others. Ember's fire becomes purplish whenever she gets angry.

Ember rarely gets sad under most circumstances in the movie. But when she does, she almost never drops a tear. Instead, Ember's fire will radiate rainbowy glow as if her light gets refracted by water. This sorrowful appearance is most obvious during the scene when Ember grieved after Wade submitted Ember's shop citations in the City Hall. However, the movie depicts Ember crying for the first time during The Crying Game at Wade's apartment. Her tear resembles fire and sizzlingly evaporates upon contact with water. At first, Ember is socially distant. She got better.

Fire people must stay away from water or they will get extinguished, but at the same time, they can touch water element people. Elements (creatures)

Description The Elements are anthropomorphic elements from nature, divided in four different kinds: air, earth, water and fire. They come in many different shapes and sizes, and each has special abilities according to their element type. Each element was originally born in different parts of the world. The fire elements are born from Fireland, but it's unknown where water, air and earth come from.

Elemental The 4 elements live together in Element City. The water people were the first elements to come and becoming the founders of the city, marking the 1st wave of elements. The earth people were the 2nd elements to arrive in Element City, the water people took them in, marking the 2nd wave of elements. The air people were the 3rd elements to arrive, when the water and earth people took them in, marking the 3rd wave of elements. The fire people were the last elements to arrive to Element City. Bernie and Cinder Lumen were the first ones to move to the city from Fireland. When they arrived, they suffered prejudice and xenophobia from the other elements. Bernie and Cinder moved to a district which later became known as Firetown, where their daughter, Ember, was born.

As time passed by, more fire people moved to Element City, and Firetown became a district exclusive for the fire elements. For most of the film, most fire people didn't leave Firetown and most water, earth and air people didn't come much to Firetown either. By the end of the film, Firetown has been rebuilt for the rest of Element City, the fire elements finally started to be included with the other elements, marking the 4th wave of elements.

The Fireplace

Background Physical Appearance The Fireplace is a huge metal building in Firetown. The sign of it is a huge orange sign with white letters.

Role in the film Bernie and Cinder Lumen migrated from their home country of Fireland to Element City in order to have a new life and soon come across an abandoned abode in Firetown and fix it up to be their home/cafe shop, which they call The Fireplace. The shop was originally made exclusive for fire elements. After the shop was inaugurated, many other fire people moved to Firetown. Bernie and Cinder have a daughter they name Ember and Bernie hopes to pass the store down to her, but the one halting factor is that Ember has grown a short temper and it makes her flame aspects grow drastically. As Ember grows up, she accidentally causes a huge pipe burst in the building basement, causing a small flood and summoning a city inspector water element named Wade Ripple, who writes down some citations regarding the faults of the shop, especially noting that Bernie and Cinder fixed it up without a city permit.

Element City 2

Residents of Element City get around via cars, trucks, motorbikes, and the Wetro, which spans across the entire Element City and has stations at the Cyclone Stadium, Firetown, the Water District, the City Hall, residential districts, and more.

Places of Interest Firetown: A district occupied by fire people. The Fireplace: A convenience store and cafe run by Bernie Lumen and later Flarry and Flarrietta. Cyclone Stadium: A stadium where the sport "Airball" is played and spectated. Garden Central Station: A greenhouse where Vivisteria Flowers are grown. Closed down when a flood broke out. The Wetro: The main form of transportation around Element City. Element Park: A park shared by all the elements, which includes an open area with a fountain, a lake with minerals, and more. City Hall: Where Gale Cumulus and Fern Grouchwood work, and where Wade Ripple hands in citations as a city inspector.

Element City

Element City is designed to reflect the diversity and harmony of the four elements, as well as the conflicts and misunderstandings that can arise from their differences. The city has distinct districts for each element, such as Firetown for fire people, the Water District for water people, the Terra District for land people, and the Breeze District for air people. However, there are also areas where the elements mix and interact, such as Central Park, the Cyclone Stadium, the Element Mall, the Ocean Liner Terminal (where elements arrive and depart) the Element School and Nursery.

The city is also rich in culture and history, with various landmarks, monuments, and festivals that celebrate the elements. For example, there is the Element Museum, which showcases the history and achievements of each element; the Element Tower, which is the tallest building in the city and has four sections representing each element; and Element Day, which is an annual celebration of unity and diversity among the elements.

The city is divided into four districts: Firetown, the Water District, Airville, and Earthville. Firetown is a hot and bustling area where fire people live and work. They are passionate, energetic, and adventurous. Waterville is a cool and calm area where water people live and work. They are gentle, flexible, and easygoing. Airville is a windy and lively area where air people live and work. They are creative, cheerful, and free-spirited. Earthville is a green and peaceful area where earth people live and work. They are reliable, practical, and down-to-earth.

The city also has a central area where all four types can interact and enjoy various attractions, such as giant pine-tree-like buildings, waterfall skyscrapers, Element Park, and a tornado-shaped arena called Cyclone Stadium. The city is inspired by big cities around the globe and embraces theorized contributions from each elemental community.
