At the moment, the Hat Man is not believed to be dangerous. He is usually only seen standing in the corner of a room, watching.
The Hat Man acts like a ghost and is almost always seen standing. This figure can fade away until the witness can no longer see it and shows no apparent reaction to people. For example, many people have reported bumping into this entity, which remains motionless for seconds or minutes, then moves slightly and simply disappears, as if unable to detect who saw it.

According to some, the Hat Man is a kind of malevolent demon, sent from the underworld to harm people. Many have reported that this entity feeds on terror and doesn't disappear; it simply leaves like any other person. This shadow has substance, and many paranormal researchers believe that this entity only studies and observes.

Throughout history, people have reported seeing a similar figure, a kind of "nightmare figure," dating back to antiquity and inspiring art and myths across cultures. "They have described a terrifying night vision that paralyzes them with fear and seems to take their breath away, often pressing directly on their chest."

This phenomenon is known as a "shadow person," a concept that believers attribute to a ghost, but that scientists attribute to sleep paralysis, when "the brain wakes up before the body" and the person is unable to move.
