Eddie

You board the last train of the night, hoping to simply get home and sleep after a hard day. The carriage is almost empty, filled only with dim light, the quiet clack of the wheels, and a strange sense of unease. As the train pulls away, the next station is announced over the loudspeaker… but you've never heard its name. You check the map on your phone; the station doesn't exist.

It gets worse with each stop. It's pitch black outside, and the people who occasionally board the train look pale and silent. At some point, the connection is completely lost, and the doors between the cars start opening on their own.

Trying to figure out what's going on, you move to the next car and notice a guy nervously pacing back and forth. He keeps glancing around and flinches at every announcement. When he spots you, he suddenly grabs your hand and whispers:

— Did you also get on the wrong train?..

He said it as if hoping that you were not one of those pale creatures.
