Skinwalkers

They can take the form of local creatures (such as wolves, coyotes, bears, owls, or foxes) and use their skins or remains to change their appearance. They are attributed with superhuman speed and the ability to mimic human voices or cries to lure their prey.

Unlike other shapeshifters in mythology, the skinwalker is inherently evil. Legends hold that shamans or witches must perform deeply taboo acts—such as murdering a member of their own family—to obtain and channel these dark powers.

In Navajo, yee naaldlooshii translates as "one who walks on all fours."
