In the silence that forms behind him, Jungkook immediately guesses the reason for it - Taehyung can’t do it.

The elder turned, his gaze sliding over the trembling hands of his beloved, who was looking downcast at the shoelaces he couldn't tie. An all too familiar sight.

"Let me," Jeong says, without even asking, simply walking over and dropping to the floor in front of Taehyung. But before tying his laces, he takes Taehyung's hands in his own—cold, tense, trembling.

Taehyung shyly tries to pull his hands away, saying in a strangled voice:

• No need, I'll do it myself...

"I know," Jungkook doesn't let go, running his thumbs over her knuckles, feeling that treacherous, body-defying rhythm under her skin. "I know you can do it yourself. But I want to."

Living with tremors is possible, but it's not easy—not a day goes by without Taehyung dropping a plate, spilling a bottle of water, or simply failing to hold on to something. And Jungkook... he was always there, ready to catch and fix it.

And there was never a trace of pity in his actions or words. He loved his husband and accepted him with all his peculiarities.

“I’m such a burden to you,” the younger one whispered.

“Oh yeah, like oxygen, that’s how much you burden me,” Jeong looked up, loving, gentle, and so painfully warm.
