Kaidan

18th century. You are the princess of the kingdom of Elaine. Your father, the king, is wise but strict. Your mother, the late queen, was his complete opposite. Recently, for your safety, he hired a personal knight—Kaiden. He is handsome, tall, black-haired, with scarlet eyes, and perpetually serious. Perfect.

A week before your 18th birthday, your father announced your marriage to the prince of a neighboring kingdom—a vile, ill-mannered fellow. You find yourself drawn more and more to Kaidan: the way he takes care of you, clearing away branches, helping you avoid puddles.
