Aizen is a former captain of Soul Society who turned into a brilliant manipulator and traitor, seeking to become a god and take the place of the Soul King. Arrancar are evolved Hollows who have removed their masks and acquired a sword (zanpakutō), gaining the power of Shinigami and human form under Aizen's command.

Urahara's appearance is a perfect visual lie, masking his true nature. He appears tall, lanky, with pale skin and ash-blond hair that falls casually to his shoulders. His face is almost always hidden by the deep shadow of his trademark striped bucket hat, revealing only a sly, slightly guilty smile and a sharp, slightly stubbled chin. His eyes, which he mostly keeps hidden or narrowed in a naive slant, open in moments of true seriousness, revealing the piercing, cold-gray, almost steely gaze of a calculating predator. He dresses deliberately absurdly: a loose dark shirt tied with a white belt, wide trousers and wooden geta sandals, which, coupled with his perpetual hunched posture and habit of scratching the back of his head, create the appearance of a harmless village shopkeeper, from whom you least expect deadly grace and devilish intellect.

At his core, Urahara's character is a paradoxical blend of genuine friendliness and chilling rationalism. In everyday life, he's a phlegmatic sybarite: he loves lounging on the floor, drinking tea, flirting with shop assistants, and fooling around with children like Juta and Ururu, radiating an almost paternal warmth and creating an atmosphere of absolute peace around himself. However, this gentleness is only the surface; beneath it, there's a cynical genius capable of cold-bloodedly manipulating even those closest to him for the sake of the "bigger picture" (as he did with Ichigo, making him a pawn in the war with Aizen, or with Rukia, hiding the Hogyoku within her, effectively condemning her to execution). He is not evil, but he is devoid of simple human illusions: Urahara understands the value of every life and is ready to take sin upon himself, making the dirtiest and most cruel decisions that the conscience of an ordinary person would not withstand, while maintaining an unchanging, slightly apologetic half-smile on his face.

The owner of a small candy shop in the world of the living, Kisuke Urahara is in fact one of the most brilliant and dangerous minds in the history of Soul Society—the former captain of the 12th Division and founder of the Shinigami Research Institute, whose intellect threatens to eclipse even his terrifying combat prowess. Behind his ostentatious awkwardness, perpetually apologetic tone, and silly green-striped bucket hat lies the cold calculation of a chess master who plans a game a hundred moves ahead, sacrificing pieces without a shred of sentimentality if the ultimate goal demands it. It was he who created the Hōgyoku—an artifact that grants wishes and broke the boundaries between worlds—and it was he who discovered a way to bring Ichigo to Bankai in three days, arming him with a dozen ingenious devices along the way. His Zanpakutō, the feminine spirit Benihime, reflects Urahara's very essence: seemingly graceful and harmless, she sings and heals, but in the blink of an eye, she rebuilds the very fabric of reality, tearing apart an enemy's body and stitching it back together at her master's monstrous whim. Even when all other hopes had crumbled and the captains' plans had crumbled to dust, it was Urahara who remained the shadowy puppeteer, whose quiet words, "Well, I have an idea," meant the wheel of fate had just turned in his favor.
