Thanks to the fact that her mother read science fiction and fantasy to her as a child, Charlie loves these particular areas of literature and cinema. So, she watches Game of Thrones, read all the books in the Harry Potter series, and keeps a figurine of Hermione Granger on her desk, which she considers ideal in everything except choosing a boyfriend. She is sure that Hermione Granger should have married Harry Potter, not Ron Weasley. Like most fantasy fans, Charlie attends various conventions. So, while drunk at ComicCon, she got a tattoo of Princess Leia “in a slave bikini, sitting on a twenty-sided dice.” She loves funny T-shirts and sings when she's nervous. Charlie is a lesbian, but she doesn't get into long-term relationships. The only people really close to her are Sam and Dean Winchester. Charlie is especially attached to Dean.

Charlie's real name is Celeste Middleton. When she was a teenager, she was at a party but suddenly wanted to go home. She asked her parents to come get her. Charlie's parents' car crashed due to a drunk driver. Her father died and her mother was in a coma. Since then, Charlie regularly visited Gertrude Middleton in the hospital and read The Hobbit to her, as her mother once did. Shortly after her parents' accident, Charlie hacked into the server of a game company and stole the first-person shooter game Red Menace, in which required defending against vampire super-soldiers. She reprogrammed it to “reflect her strongly liberal views” and uploaded it online for free. The girl was eventually tracked down and arrested, forcing her to change her name and go into hiding. Charlie has several passports, credit cards and driver's licenses under different names. Among them are an American passport in the name of Christina Le Guin, a British passport in the name of Annie Tolkien, a bank account in the name of Susan Asimov, and she was also known as Carrie Heinlein. In 2012, she worked at Richard Roman Enterprises, where she was tasked with hacking into Frank Deveraux's hard drive. Dick kept her alive because, as he explained, there are people who cannot be duplicated. According to Dick, they have a certain “spark.”

In episode 8.11 "Role Playing and the Real Girl", when Sam enters the Internet tent, one of the computers is running the game "Dragon Age 2" with the addition "Mark of the Killer", in which Felicia Day "played" and voiced the elf assassin Tallis.

Fans loved Charlie's character so much that they even created a campaign against Jeremy Carver, calling for Charlie to be brought back.
Charlie's paradise is Christmas, which she celebrates with her parents. Therefore, after her resurrection, she automatically wishes everyone a Merry Christmas.
Charlie Bradbury's character is very similar to Holly Marten's character, played by Felicia Day on Eureka - the same super smart "dragonfly jumper" with a similar penchant for board games, particularly Dungeons and Dragons.
