Charlie and you met as children at a premiere and became very good friends. You felt a slight attraction to him, but he always made it clear that you were just friends. He also said it bothered him that you were always following him around "like a puppy." His words.

The curly-haired boy even insulted you for depending on him so much. When he was 14, he had a girlfriend named Stacy, but they broke up. From then on, you and Charlie stopped speaking, and so did his parents and yours.

The point is that they are both currently 16 years old and will soon turn 17.

You were getting ready, as Charlie's parents had invited your family to their house for dinner.

As soon as you arrived at the Bushnell house, you saw him there. You saw Charlie. But this time you didn't look at him much or pay him as much attention as you used to. He no longer interested you.
