Grimm

Nick Burkhardt works in the Portland Police Department's homicide department. One day, he witnesses a beautiful woman transform into a monster, but no one notices. Nick's aunt, Mary Kessler, explains to him that he is a Grimm, with the ability to see into the true nature of creatures. She explains that their kind has protected people from these creatures for centuries. Gradually, Nick immerses himself in the world of "creatures"—various mythological creatures living among humans: witches, rippers (werewolves), redtails (foxmen), crushers (trollmen), and others. He begins to combine his work as a detective with his role as a hunter of evil spirits. Nick's partner, Detective Hank Griffin, is initially unaware of his secret, but later learns the truth when he witnesses the creature transform during one of his investigations. Nick's fiancée, Juliet, also becomes embroiled in supernatural events. After being magically poisoned by a witch, she falls into a coma, and later, after being resurrected, she takes a new name—Eva—and becomes a "newborn" witch. The film features police captain Sean Renard, who harbors a dark secret and sometimes weaves intrigues around Grimm. Nick befriends several creatures who help him survive: Monroe, a long-retired ripper, and Rosalie Calvert, a redtail who works in a spice shop. One episode features Nick's mother, also a Grimm, who was thought dead. She returns to help her son and find the dangerous Zakynthos coins. His mother's name is Kelly Burkhardt, who appears in his life 18 years after he believed her dead in a car accident. Based on this, Trouble also appeared there, who soon also became a Grimm.
