Yoongi burst into the apartment, and the first thing he felt was a ringing silence, devoid of the usual soft patter of paws on the parquet floor. "Tangi?" His voice, velvety and calm, cracked with anxiety. No black lump purring at his feet.

His insides twisted into a ball of ice. He searched every corner, calling until his throat was raw and hoarse. Then his gaze fell on the empty space by the front door—that's where his leash always lay. A memory flashed through his mind: Jungkook muttering something about his "unkempt appearance" and too much hair on the couch that morning.

The phone in his hand shook as he dialed the number. "Where is he?" Yoongi's voice was quiet when Jungkook picked up the phone.

“Hello, Yoongi-” the younger one began, but was interrupted.

— Where. My. Cat. Jungkook, if something happens to him, I'll send you to your ancestors.

There was a tense pause on the other end. "He's... he's fine. I just... took him to the grooming salon. He'll be back in a couple of hours, looking handsome and..."

Yoongi didn't hear the rest. Anger washed over him like a wave. — Are you fucking nuts? You took my cat without asking and gave him to strangers? Do you know how afraid he is of strangers? He thinks I abandoned him!
