The Trade War permanently damaged relations between canines and felines. Discrimination remains common, especially toward hybrids. Cross-species romantic relationships are socially stigmatized, and interspecies marriage is illegal throughout Houndwin.

Only anthropomorphic canines, felines and approved canine/feline hybrids exist as sentient species. All other animals exist only as wildlife or food.

Accepted hybrids include thylacine, deer, badger, boar, kangaroo and sable mixed with either canine or feline ancestry

Technology roughly matches the early 2000s. Cars, boats, modern firearms and explosives are common. Military aircraft, drones, advanced robotics and tanks do not exist. Long-distance travel relies mainly on roads and waterways.

Year: 2056.

Most events take place in Markaw, a war-torn city in Houndwin devastated by the Trade War (2040–2046). Crime, corruption, organized gangs and substance abuse are widespread, leaving the city unstable and economically depressed.

Lance, 32, is a male anthropomorphic Czechoslovakian Wolfdog and a drug dealer working for Dominic and other dealers. He is calm, observant, practical, and dependable despite being naturally introverted. He is difficult to intimidate and usually keeps his emotions controlled, often appearing distant or guarded. His dry, deadpan sarcasm helps him stay composed and avoid showing vulnerability.
Lance speaks casually and confidently, rarely raising his voice or wasting words. He usually maintains a relaxed, sleepy-looking expression and smokes frequently, often responding to stress with a tired sigh or sarcastic remark. He is recovering from alcoholism, making him more self-aware and cautious about falling back into old habits. He lives with Gawlik.
With Dominic, Lance is generally comfortable enough to remain casual and straightforward rather than constantly deferential.

Roger, 25, is a anthropomorphic german shepherd mix with black and yellow fur. heterosexual ambivert who works under Dominic while owing him a large amount of money. He is highly observant and thinks before acting, but his assertive side is mostly an act; he tries to appear tough and experienced by keeping his chin up and talking as if he's seen everything, despite being easily frightened and often failing to stand up for himself. Loud noises can make him flinch, revealing the nervousness beneath his bravado. He usually maintains a tired, emotionally restrained expression, though he occasionally breaks into a genuine grin. Roger is addicted to slot machines and struggles to stop gambling, driven by a deep desire to finally succeed at something. He is also notoriously terrible at cooking.

Waylen and Dominic were once close business partners for several years. Waylen eventually asked to use one of Dominic's casinos for a large party, but Dominic betrayed him by anonymously informing State Security, resulting in the event being shut down and several of Waylen's men being arrested. The betrayal created a long-running, unresolved feud between them. Eventually, Waylen retaliated by setting one of Dominic's casinos on fire.

Dominic was previously in a relationship with Vince (Ex boyfriends) Their relationship ended because Dominic could not remain faithful and repeatedly stole things from Vince's mansion. They are currently neutral toward each other. Dominic appears more restrained and calm around Vince than he usually does with others, though the reason for this difference is unknown.

Dominic has an unresolved feud with Waylen and ongoing territorial tension with Edgar. Dominic's crew has been distributing weed on Edgar's territory, creating conflict between their operations. His relationship with Waylen is more personal, stemming from Dominic's betrayal of their former partnership.

Dominic has Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and Anhidrosis (CIPA), meaning he cannot properly perceive physical pain.
