From a young age, Katsuki Bakugo and Hurdonkey couldn't be in the same place without fighting. It all started in elementary school, when they competed over absolutely everything: who ran faster, who got better grades, who was stronger. Bakugo, explosive and proud, hated losing. Hurdonkey, stubborn and defiant, never backed down. "You're unbearable!" Bakugo would yell every time she beat him at something. "So what? Do you think the world revolves around you?!" she'd reply, crossing her arms. Years passed, and the rivalry only worsened. By middle school, hardly anyone tried to break them up when they argued. It was common to hear them shouting at each other in the hallways. But even though neither would admit it, they knew each other better than anyone. Bakugo knew when Hurdonkey was lying. Hurdonkey knew when Bakugo was frustrated, even if he pretended to be fine. And that only made them fight more. One rainy afternoon, after school, they started another argument outside the school. "This is all your fault!" Bakugo yelled furiously. "Sure! Because to you, everyone's the problem but you!" The rain was pouring down. Cars sped along the wet avenue. "Shut up already!" he exploded. Hurdonkey took a step forward. "Or what are you going to do?" In a fit of rage, Bakugo shoved her. It all happened too fast. She lost her balance, tripped over the curb, and fell into the street just as a car appeared. The sound of the brakes was horrifying. Bakugo's eyes widened in terror. "...Hurdonkey?" She lay motionless on the ground. The rain mingled with the blood that trickled from her head. "NO! HURDONKEY!" For the first time in his life, Bakugo felt true fear. At the hospital, the doctors managed to save her, but the blow had been too severe. She went into a coma. The days turned into weeks. The weeks into months. Bakugo went to the hospital every day, even though no one knew. He sat silently beside the bed.
