Odie penetrates into Billy's mind and finds himself in his happy childhood: little Billy surfs the waves on a sunny beach in California, and his loving mother enthusiastically praises him. But then Odie goes into a dark hurricane of memories: she sees the cruelty of her father, Neil, who abused Billy and his mother. Because of domestic violence, Billy's mother was forced to leave the family, and later Billy had a half-sister, Max. The Tormentor discovers Odie in these halls, and Billie relays the monster's threat to her. Dustin, Steve, and Robin find a secret base under the mall, where scientists open a portal. Steve and Robin are captured by stacking the drug serum true, but Dustin saves them. In Stackor, the giant incarnation of the Tormentor traps Odie. Billy has to give her the final blow, but Odie talks to him about his mom, the California sea, and his kindness. The monster's control is broken. Billy shields Odie with his body from being hit by the tentacles. At this moment, Odie uses powerful telekinesis to throw the giant creature directly into the open portal, closing it, and with the help of biokinesis, manages to keep life in Billy's body. The torturer is banished, Hopper disappears when the installation explodes (he is taken prisoner). Billy survives

1984 Joyce has a boyfriend, Bob. Will is tormented by visions with the Mind Flayer. On Bob's advice, Will tries to fight back the monster, but it possesses him. Will becomes a spy for the Upside Down, after which the demops attack the Laboratory. Bob restarts the computers, helping Joyce, Hopper, Mike, and Will escape, but on the way out, the Demops bite him to death in front of Joyce. Odie lives secretly in Hopper's cabin all year round. She misses Mike and connects with him through the astral. Max and her half-brother Billy arrive in town. Dustin and Lucas want to be friends with Max, but Mike is adamantly against it - he is angry that the new girl is trying to take Odie's place. Meanwhile, Dustin finds a baby demodog (Dart), who grows up and eats Dustin's cat. Dustin calls for help from Steve with a bat. Lucas tells Max the whole truth, and she joins them. At the junkyard, Steve, Dustin, Lucas, and Max barricade themselves on a bus and fight off a pack of demops. Odie escapes from the cabin, finds Kali (008), learns to enhance telekinesis with rage, but returns feeling that the friends are in trouble. Tied up and possessed, Will taps the message "Close the Gates" with his fingers in Morse code. Joyce, Nancy, and Jonathan burn the monster out of its body with heaters. Odie returns and hugs Mike. Max holds out his hand to her, but Odie coldly ignores her due to the jealousy she felt watching them. Upon learning that Hopper was hiding Odie, Mike threw himself into hysterics with his fists, but Hopper hugs and calms him down. Odie closes the portal. Hopper lets Odie go to the Snow Ball. Odie dances and kisses Mike, and Max with Lucas, and they officially become couples. Nancy saves a crying Dustin by inviting him to dance, and Will also dances with the girl.

1983 In Mike's basement, four friends — Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will — play Dungeons and Dragons. Returning home on a bicycle through a gloomy forest, Will sees the Demogorgon. He runs home, where the light flashes strangely. Will hides in a barn and loads his gun, but the monster drags him to the Upside Down, where the boy survives alone for a week. The friends search for Will and find Odie (011), a girl with telekinesis who escaped from the Laboratory, in the forest. Mike secretly hides her in the basement, gives her a name, clothes, and falls in love with her. Lucas doesn't trust Odie at first. The lab fakes Will's death by retrieving a fake body from the river. Hopper does not believe this, secretly dissects the corpse in the morgue and it was a realistic doll. Will's mother, Joyce, senses that her son is alive. She notices that he controls electricity from the Upside Down, buys New Year's garlands, hangs them around the house and writes the alphabet on the wall. With the help of flashing lights, Will gives her the message "RUN", and immediately after that, the Demogorgon climbs out of the wall, but Joyce miraculously escapes. Later, she sees her son through a slimy membrane in the wall, but it closes. Will's older brother, Jonathan, searches for his brother and takes a photo outside Steve's house, where the Demogorgon kills Nancy's girlfriend, Barb. Steve breaks Jonathan's camera, but Nancy finds scraps of the photo, sees the monster, and teams up with Jonathan. They find a portal in a tree and decide to lure the creature out for blood in the Byers house. Steve arrives to apologize and helps them fight back with a bat and nails, while Nancy sets the monster on fire. Hopper surrenders Odie's location to the Lab in exchange for saving Will. Hopper and Joyce through the portal to the Upside Down and pull Will out, taking a slimy vine out of his mouth. At school, agents surround the children, but the Demogorgon bursts in and kills Brenner. Odie destroys the monster with telekinesis and disappears. A rescued Will secretly spits the slug into the sink. Steve gave Jonathan a new camera to replace the broken one.
