The parents were led to believe their child had died. And all this time, their children were in the lab, raised and then used. These children would escape whenever possible, then they tried to catch them, but it didn't work. And four years ago, in 1983, Eleven escaped from the lab. She was found in the woods by Mike, Luca, and Dustin, who were helping Eleven, and she lived in Mike's basement. Saving them, and they saving her. And they became friends with Eleven.
