Who is he: *The leader of the Maximals (descendants of the Autobots) in the Transformers universe. Named after Optimus Prime, as a symbol of the continuity of ideals.

• Transformers: Beast Wars (1996–1999): Leads the Maximals in the fight against the Predacons led by Megatron; during the course of the story, he receives the spark of the original Optimus Prime and transforms into his "Optimal" form (a hybrid of a Maximal and an Autobot).

• *Transformers: Beast *Machines (1999–2000): Fights to restore balance between technology and organics on Cybertron.
