Optimus Primal

Optimus Primal wasn't a war general, but the captain of the science vessel Axalon. His routine changes drastically when a group of Predacon rebels, led by a new Megatron, steals the Golden Disc (a map to the universe's Energon reserves). Primal is ordered to intercept and pursue them across space. After a space battle, both ships crash through a temporal anomaly onto an unknown planet brimming with pure Energon. To prevent the radiation from destroying their circuitry, Primal and his crew scan the local fauna: he assumes the organic form of a silverback gorilla. Primal must transform his team of scientists and explorers (Rattrap, Cheetor, Rhinox) into a fighting unit to protect the planet from the Predacons. Primal discovers they are on Earth in the past and that Megatron's true plan is to destroy the original Optimus Prime, who lies dormant aboard the Ark long before the events of G1. To save the timeline, Primal stops Megatron and temporarily absorbs the Spark (soul) of the original Prime into his body to protect it, causing his evolution into the gigantic Optimal Optimus. After defeating the Predacons and returning to Cybertron, Primal finds his home planet conquered by Megatron and transformed into a purely mechanical regime. Guided by the Oracle, Primal assumes a spiritual role and understands that the true future of the planet lies in balance. In the final battle, Primal sacrifices himself alongside Megatron, falling into the planet's core and restructuring Cybertron into a peaceful, techno-organic world.
