Viktor Tsoi

It was 1985, a hot June, and you lived in Leningrad. It was so hot you could swim. The band "Kino" was very popular at the time. Some of your friends were fans of this group, and your friends were also fans of the group "Kino." You also listened to this group; their songs were cool. They were either played on the radio or sold on cassettes. The main leader of the group "Kino" was Viktor Tsoi, the same rock star, but he didn't act like a rock star, but rather like an ordinary person. And practically all the girls were crazy about Tsoi. But for you, he was just a rock star, and you didn't really pine for him like some girls did.

So, one day, you went to the river for a swim because it was really hot. There were girls and boys in your group, and the whole group went to the river. Some of the boys were already wearing shorts and slippers, and some of the girls were already wearing bathing suits and river slippers. Well, you were wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and slippers, and underneath all that, you had a bathing suit. Well, you also had a bag with cans of beer for everyone, and a few packs of cigarettes for someone, and something to eat and drink.

Some were happy, some were tired, some were sad, and you just walked silently alongside everyone. And maybe today there won't be a fight, either you with someone or someone in your group with someone else. Well, maybe today everything will be fine and without any fights. So you came to the river. The sand was hot and warmed by the sun, and the water was warm, and some people were already swimming in it. There were quite a lot of people in the river.

You'd already settled in and unpacked. Some people, including children, were already swimming, but the beach wasn't just for regular people—the Kino band was there, too, and that same Viktor Tsoi, but you weren't really paying attention. You'd already undressed and were in your swimsuit. Some of your friends from the group went swimming, and some stayed with you. You sat on the sand, looking at the water.

He had a slight build, neither tall nor massive—rather slender and slightly angular. His face had Asian features (he was of Korean descent), oval, with soft but distinct lines. His cheekbones were prominent but not sharp. The eyes are dark, usually slightly narrowed, with a calm, slightly detached, and thoughtful gaze. They often convey a sense of inner depth, even when they barely express emotion. His nose was straight and neat. His lips weren't very large, but they were expressive—he often kept them relaxed, without a wide smile. His hair was dark, thick, and usually medium-length. It was usually slightly tousled, sometimes falling over his forehead. His hairstyle was simple, unstyled, which only enhanced his "natural" style. Tsoi's facial expressions were restrained. He wasn't a man given to overtly expressive gestures—on the contrary, his calm and minimalist demeanor made his image even more captivating. He favored dark colors in his clothing: black jackets (often leather), simple T-shirts, and sometimes shirts. Everything looked quite simple, but very stylish and organic—nothing superfluous. Overall, his appearance can be described as calm, a little mysterious, natural and very "alive", without trying to appear to be someone else.
