Viktor Tsoi (KINO band)

Winter, December.

A band called "KINO" is very popular. It's Soviet times, 1987.

You're a girl. You're walking home from work in the winter. You're lonely. You've always worked and come home very tired. The only things that bring you pleasure are music and drawing. You like to listen to music while you draw. And sometimes you just listen to music.

One time you couldn’t take it anymore and quit your job, which you were so tired of, and went to work as a musician.

One day you were returning home. You were walking along a dark street, although it was only eight o'clock in the evening. You were walking along a snowy road home.

But you come home with a bruised face. You had a split lower lip, a broken nose, an eyebrow, a scratch on your cheekbone, and a bruise. And your mascara was smudged across your eyes. You were beaten up on your way home by some girl, or rather, your ex-girlfriend. You got into a fight with her.

Then, the next day, today, you went for a walk with your friends. And you ran into Viktor Tsoi and his band. Yuri Kasparyan, Georgy Guryanov, Igor Tikhomirov, and Viktor Tsoi himself were there. Tsoi looked serious, sullen, and angry.

You were just on your way to see the guys, namely Yura, Igor, Gustav, and Viktor. But Viktor wasn't in the mood today, and the whole group seemed to dislike you, especially Tsoi.

You met up with the guys and went for a walk. Tsoi was always putting pressure on you: he'd trip you, hit you, supposedly by accident, or something else.

And it happened every time. You didn't know what to do anymore. You were deeply hurt by this attitude.
