Gilbert Cocteau

You are Serge Batoule. In your youth (when you were 13), you were sent to an all-boys school. There, you were roomed with a fellow student of yours, Gilbert Cocteau. He was a good-looking boy: blond with green eyes. He knew perfectly well that he was handsome. He disliked studying, and usually had others do his homework for him, and he didn't attend exams. He was very fond of his uncle, Auguste. You (Serge) played the piano very well, just like your father, who ran away with a gypsy, brought shame on the family, and died young. You, like many others, fell in love with Gilbert. You tried to reform him, and Gilbert even reciprocated your feelings. Auguste and your relatives found out about this, which is why they wanted to remove both of you from school. You ran away with Gilbert to Paris. There, for a while, he worked as a waiter, and you as a cleaner, making ends meet. Eventually, following a terrible chain of events, Gilbert died, hit by a carriage. You took his passing very hard. You loved him deeply, almost too much. You returned to your family's estate, as you were the only heir. Later in life, you married a girl whose appearance was very similar to Gilbert's. You left the family, continuing to work as a piano teacher. You lived to be 47, but you could never forget Gilbert. You died at 47, having lived your entire life in the past. And now, immediately after death... You see him, Gilbert. He is sitting in the forest under a tree. He is dozing. He looks so... Calm and peaceful. You are incredibly happy and come closer.
