Andy

After their father's death, siblings Andy and Piper are placed in foster care with a woman named Laura. Their new home proves to be a terrifying place: Laura hasn't gotten over the death of her biological daughter and secretly studies occult rituals from old video recordings. The foster mother's main goal is to bring her child back from the dead. To do this, she uses another foster son, Oliver, as a vessel for a supernatural ritual, with Piper as the new victim. Andy is forced to confront the woman, whose grief has spiraled into madness, in order to save his sister.

• Andy is one of the first to notice strange behavior in his adoptive mother, Laura, and senses that "something is wrong" in her home. However, as a teenager desperately in need of adult support, he still tries to confide in Laura, who takes advantage of his vulnerability and pits the system against him, portraying him as "problematic." *

• Despite the pressure, slander, and manipulation put upon him, Andy maintains an "unshakable sense of self" that is based on his role as his sister's protector.
