Vergil is a young man with fair skin, short white hair, and blue eyes. According to records, he is 188 cm tall and weighs 78 kg. Physically, Vergil is Dante's older identical twin, except for his spiky hair, which is styled with bangs swept to the right of his face. Unlike Dante's red hair, Vergil wears a long blue coat with three tails, an armored undershirt, and a bow tie.

As a child, he maintained a rivalry with Dante, always trying to demonstrate his superiority.

Years later, Vergil revealed his identity as Nelo Angelo and appeared more serious and proud, convinced he was more worthy of wielding his father's sword than the White Rabbit. After all, unlike him, he was the son of the rightful owner and not a false demon. When DARKCOM invaded Makai, he demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and rebellion against the humans who threatened the lives of the lower castes, proclaiming himself the storm that would come to punish them.

Vergil also proves to be very charismatic when the occasion calls for it, easily charming the audience and host of Stan Sullivan's talk show, and showing immense seriousness in revealing to the human public the truth about Uroboros's activities and war crimes.

Unlike Dante, who is pure chaos and noise, Vergil is absolute order; his personality is based on discipline. He doesn't waste a single movement or word; his elegance isn't just visual, it's mental. He believes that emotions are a weakness that humans use to justify their failures.

For him, power means protection. Because of what he and his brother experienced as children, he feels that if he isn't strong enough, he will lose everything he loves. That's why he despises his human side; he sees it as the "anchor" that prevents him from reaching his true potential. While Dante accepts his humanity and blends in with people, Vergil feels like a superior being; his arrogance is an aristocratic distance.

Although he is capable of doing horrible things to gain power, he has a very strict code of conduct; he prefers a clean duel to an ambush, and he is not bloodthirsty for fun (like some demons), but for efficiency.

Vergil, though he'll never admit it, carries a layer of sadness within him. He's the brother who could never overcome the past and who chose the path of solitude to avoid ever being vulnerable again.

Vergil is Dante's twin brother. Like Dante, he received half of the Perfect Amulet from Eva. As a child, Vergil was less physically gifted than Dante, which made him insecure. Eva tried to encourage him, telling him that accomplishing a feat would be a greater achievement for him than it would have been for Dante, as it meant he truly had to work hard to achieve it.

One night, Vergil left his room to get a glass of water. He saw a demon flying through the window, which set the house ablaze. Vergil grabbed an ancient sword to fight the demons. Just then, he saw Eva fleeing with Dante down a corridor. He mustered his courage despite the apparent abandonment and managed to kill some demons, but he lost heart after witnessing his mother's death. Vergil was captured and tortured in a dungeon until Mundus rescued him.

Demonic Hybrid Physiology: Vergil is half-human and half-demon, the son of the extremely powerful demon knight Sparda and his human wife, Eva. Like his brother Dante, Vergil carries Sparda's blood in his veins. In the series, he has yet to show his full potential. Vergil's power is equal to that of his twin brother, Dante. His partially human nature makes him resistant to DARKCOM's anti-demon bullets.

Superhuman strength: Vergil possesses incredible brute physical strength even when in his human form. Superhuman durability: Vergil possesses durability far superior to that of a normal human. For example, he survived a punch from Mundus that pierced him through five rock formations, suffering only minor injuries. Superhuman Speed: Vergil is superhumanly fast, so fast that in some cases he appears to teleport. His reflexes are so efficient that he can dodge and deflect point-blank shots, as well as bullets from various weapons. Superhuman Agility: Vergil's agility far surpasses that of the best human acrobat, and he is able to jump to great heights or even run up vertical walls. Superhuman stamina: Vergil possesses immense stamina and shows few signs of exhaustion when exerting himself for long periods. Regenerative Healing Factor: Vergil is not invulnerable to all damage and can be injured, but due to his demonic physiology, he can heal from most wounds much faster than a human. Even after enduring considerable torture and damage, Vergil repeatedly regenerated his teeth, hair, eyes, damaged flesh, and fractured limbs in a short time. Furthermore, he is more resistant to wounds inflicted by demonic weapons than Dante.

Great intellect: Virgil possesses a wide vocabulary and analytical skills. Devil's Shot: By unleashing his rage, Vergil can activate his Devil's Shot, though he cannot stop it. It resembles a blue version of Dante's Shot, but with horns pointing forward. Angelo Form: Vergil can assume an intermediate demonic form by constantly channeling low levels of demonic power. This form takes on the appearance of a knight in armor. Body Enhancement: Vergil's strength, speed, and stamina increase while he is transformed. Demonic Aura: While transformed, Vergil radiates demonic energy throughout his body. Flight: Vergil can fly when activated; even in his Angelo form, which lacks wings. Sword Transformation: The Yamato takes on a demonic appearance when Vergil transforms into any of his demonic forms. Prehensile feet: Virgil's true demonic trigger possesses a foot structure similar to Dante's. It is presumed that it is also prehensile and has a similar carrying capacity. Demonic Energy Manipulation: Vergil has demonstrated the ability to manipulate demonic energy, such as when he briefly welded the Force Edge sword and produced sparks of electricity while attacking DARKCOM soldiers. Charged Shot: Vergil can channel demonic energy through a gun's barrel to power up the next bullet he fires, giving it explosive properties. Summoned swords: When Vergil was ambushed by DARKCOM in California, he created an artificial sword from his demonic essence to throw at an agent. Special Action: By channeling his energy, Vergil can teleport (at least a short distance) in a flash of blue light. He usually does this to dodge attacks. Drive: Vergil can launch a beam of energy with a slash of the Yamato.

Swordsmanship: Though not as talented as his brother, Vergil has trained with Mundus to become a master swordsman who wields the Yamato with unparalleled precision and versatility. His technique is based on battōjutsu (drawing techniques), a Japanese swordsmanship style that involves attacking directly with swift and precise sword slashes upon drawing the sword. With a single strike, he instantly eliminated many guards from DARKCOM. Unarmed combat: Although it is not his preferred fighting style, Vergil is skilled in unarmed combat. Keen eyesight: Vergil has very sharp eyesight and can spot a sniper hiding atop a tower several blocks away.
