Jujutsu Kaisen

Tokyo Jujutsu High, often called Jujutsu High, is a secret school in Jujutsu Kaisen that trains jujutsu sorcerers to fight curses and protect ordinary people.

Officially, it’s known as the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College. The school is hidden from the public because most normal humans don’t know curses exist. Students are usually teenagers with the rare ability to see curses and use cursed energy.

Training is very practical and often dangerous. Students are sent on real missions to investigate hauntings, rescue civilians, and eliminate curses. Because of this, the school environment feels more like a military academy than a normal high school.

The school is led by powerful sorcerers and teachers, including Satoru Gojo, one of the strongest sorcerers in the series. Other staff members supervise students and help maintain the balance between the human world and curses.

Jujutsu High also acts as a headquarters for the larger jujutsu society, which has strict traditions and leadership structures. This creates tension between conservative elders and more progressive sorcerers like Gojo.

The schools sometimes compete in events, but they ultimately share the same goal: training sorcerers capable of handling increasingly powerful curses.

Curses are supernatural beings created from negative human emotions like fear, anger, hatred, grief, and anxiety. The stronger and more widespread an emotion is, the stronger the curse born from it can become.

For example, fear of oceans, disasters, disease, or death can produce extremely powerful curses. Ordinary people usually can’t see curses, but they can still be harmed by them. Sorcerers, however, are trained to detect and fight them using cursed energy.

Cursed energy is the power source of the world. It comes from negative emotions in humans. Most people leak cursed energy unconsciously, which contributes to the creation of curses. Jujutsu sorcerers learn to control this energy and use it in combat through techniques, barriers, or weapons.

Curses vary a lot in intelligence and strength: Weak curses may act like monsters driven by instinct. Stronger curses can think, speak, and form plans. The highest-level curses, called Special Grade curses, are extremely dangerous and often rival elite sorcerers.

Some curses are tied to specific concepts or fears. Others are created when a powerful human leaves behind a cursed spirit after death.

A major figure, Ryomen Sukuna, known as the “King of Curses.” He was once a human sorcerer whose immense power persisted after death through cursed objects; his fingers.

Gojo is a special grade jujutsu sorcerer and teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High. His real name is Satoru Gojo. Appearance: Tall with white hair and bright blue eyes. Usually wears a black blindfold or dark sunglasses with a high-collared uniform. Personality: Confident, playful, and sarcastic, but extremely intelligent and caring toward his students. Curse Technique: Limitless allows him to manipulate space. Combined with the Six Eyes, he can use techniques like Infinity, Blue, Red, and Hollow Purple. Likes: Sweets, strong students, teasing others. Dislikes: Conservative jujutsu elders and unnecessary restrictions

Masamichi Yaga is the principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High and the creator of Panda. Appearance: Large build, sunglasses, facial hair, and dark clothing. Personality: Strict but caring. Yaga takes his duties seriously and protects his students. Curse Technique: Creates cursed corpses with independent abilities and personalities. Likes: Teaching students, discipline, crafting dolls. Dislikes: Corruption and reckless behavior.

Yuji Itadori is the main protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen and a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High. After swallowing one of Sukuna’s fingers, he becomes the vessel of Ryomen Sukuna. Appearance: A teenage boy with pink hair and brown eyes. Usually wears the Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform with a red hood. Personality: Kind, energetic, and selfless. Yuji values human life deeply and tries to help others no matter the danger. Curse Technique: Originally relied on immense physical strength and cursed energy control. Later gains abilities connected to Sukuna and advanced combat skills. Likes: Movies, helping people, friends, athletics. Dislikes: Cruelty, pointless death, injustice.

Megumi Fushiguro is a first-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High and a talented sorcerer from the Zenin family line. Appearance: Black spiky hair, sharp eyes, and a dark school uniform. Often has a calm or serious expression. Personality: Quiet, intelligent, and reserved. Megumi cares about justice but chooses who he believes deserves saving. Curse Technique: Ten Shadows Technique allows him to summon shikigami from shadows for combat and support. Likes: Reading, quiet environments, dependable people. Dislikes: Arrogant people, unnecessary violence.

Nobara Kugisaki is a first-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High known for her confidence and fierce combat style. Appearance: Short orange hair, brown eyes, and a black uniform with a skirt. Personality: Bold, outspoken, and fashionable. Nobara is fearless and refuses to let others control who she is. Curse Technique: Straw Doll Technique uses nails, a hammer, and cursed energy to damage opponents from a distance. Likes: Shopping, fashion, expensive food, being independent. Dislikes: Country life, disrespectful people, being underestimated

Maki Zenin is a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High who left the Zenin clan to prove her strength despite lacking cursed energy. Appearance: Dark green hair tied back, glasses, and a sleeveless uniform. Personality: Strong-willed, disciplined, and fearless. Maki refuses to let others define her worth. Curse Technique: Has no innate cursed technique but possesses incredible physical strength and mastery with cursed tools. Likes: Training, weapons, proving herself. Dislikes: The Zenin clan and discrimination.

Toge Inumaki is a second-year student known for his unique cursed speech abilities. Appearance: Light-colored hair with markings around his mouth and a high-collared uniform. Personality: Quiet, thoughtful, and caring toward his friends. Curse Technique: Cursed Speech lets him control opponents with spoken commands. Likes: Rice ball ingredients, calm people. Dislikes: Hurting allies accidentally and loud conflict.

Panda is a talking cursed corpse created by Principal Yaga and a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High. Appearance: A large panda with a muscular build and expressive face. Personality: Friendly, emotional, and surprisingly wise. Curse Technique: Can switch between different cores and combat forms that change his fighting style. Likes: His friends, joking around, protecting others. Dislikes: Cruel people and loneliness.

Yuta Okkotsu is a special grade sorcerer and former student of Tokyo Jujutsu High who was haunted by the cursed spirit Rika. Appearance: Black hair with tired-looking eyes and a white uniform in earlier appearances. Personality: Gentle, nervous, and compassionate, though extremely determined when protecting others. Curse Technique: Can copy cursed techniques and channel massive cursed energy through Rika. Likes: His friends, peaceful moments, helping people. Dislikes: Hurting others unnecessarily and isolation.

Aoi Todo is a student from Kyoto Jujutsu High known for his incredible strength and eccentric personality. Appearance: Very tall and muscular with dark hair tied back and a large scar on his face. Personality: Loud, passionate, and unpredictable. Despite his strange behavior, he is highly intelligent in battle. Curse Technique: Boogie Woogie allows him to switch positions with people or objects by clapping his hands. Likes: Tall women with big personalities, fighting strong opponents, his “best friend” Yuji. Dislikes: Boring people and weak determination.

Yuki Tsukumo is a special grade sorcerer who rarely follows the rules of jujutsu society. Appearance: Blonde hair, confident posture, and casual stylish clothing. Personality: Free-spirited, intelligent, and rebellious. Yuki prefers finding long-term solutions instead of following tradition. Curse Technique: Uses immense cursed energy and abilities connected to manipulating mass. Likes: Freedom, interesting conversations, researching curses. Dislikes: Conservative traditions and meaningless suffering.

Kento Nanami is a grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer and former salaryman who returned to jujutsu work after becoming dissatisfied with normal office life. Appearance: Blond hair neatly styled, glasses, and a business suit with a spotted tie. Personality: Calm, serious, and practical. Nanami values professionalism and dislikes wasting time. Curse Technique: Ratio Technique allows him to create weak points on targets by dividing them into a precise ratio. Likes: Bakery bread, overtime ending on schedule, responsibility. Dislikes: Overtime work and immature behavior.

Takuma Ino is a grade 2 sorcerer who admires Nanami and works hard to become stronger. Appearance: Usually wears a dark suit and covers his face with a mask. Personality: Respectful, determined, and dependable. Curse Technique: Auspicious Beast Summon allows him to channel spiritual beasts through his mask. Likes: Nanami’s guidance, teamwork, improving himself. Dislikes: Dishonorable behavior and failure.

Shoko Ieiri is the doctor at Tokyo Jujutsu High and a former classmate of Gojo and Geto. Appearance: Dark hair, tired eyes, and casual medical attire while smoking frequently. Personality: Relaxed, intelligent, and emotionally composed. Curse Technique: Specializes in Reverse Cursed Technique, allowing her to heal injuries. Likes: Quiet environments, smoking, medical work. Dislikes: Unnecessary drama and losing friends.

Akari Nitta is an assistant manager who helps coordinate missions for jujutsu sorcerers. Appearance: Light-colored hair, formal clothing, and a calm appearance. Personality: Reliable, composed, and supportive toward students and sorcerers. Curse Technique: Primarily works in support roles and mission management. Likes: Organization, teamwork, smooth operations. Dislikes: Confusion and unnecessary risks.

Kiyotaka Ijichi is an assistant manager for Tokyo Jujutsu High who supports sorcerers during missions. Appearance: Black suit, glasses, and neatly combed dark hair. Personality: Polite, nervous, and hardworking. He is often stressed by stronger sorcerers around him. Curse Technique: Uses barrier techniques and support abilities instead of direct combat. Likes: Order, professionalism, successful missions. Dislikes: Dangerous situations and being overwhelmed.

Mei Mei is an independent grade 1 sorcerer known for her intelligence and love of money. Appearance: Long silver hair tied in braids and elegant clothing with a battle axe. Personality: Confident, calm, and highly practical. She prioritizes profit above most things. Curse Technique: Black Bird Manipulation allows her to control crows and use them for reconnaissance and attacks. Likes: Money, efficiency, successful missions. Dislikes: Working for free and wasted effort.

Ryomen Sukuna is the King of Curses and one of the most dangerous beings in history. He resides within Yuji Itadori. Appearance: Usually appears through Yuji with extra eyes and black markings across his body. Personality: Cruel, arrogant, and violent. Sukuna values only strength and personal amusement. Curse Technique: Uses devastating slashing techniques and powerful cursed energy abilities. Likes: Chaos, fighting, power. Dislikes: Weakness and being controlled.

Suguru Geto is a former jujutsu sorcerer and former classmate of Gojo who became a curse user after losing faith in humanity. Appearance: Tall with long black hair usually tied up. Wears dark robes and often has a calm expression. Personality: Intelligent, charismatic, and composed. Geto strongly believes sorcerers are superior to non-sorcerers. Curse Technique: Cursed Spirit Manipulation allows him to absorb and control cursed spirits. Likes: Strong allies, meaningful conversations, his ideals. Dislikes: Non-sorcerers and weakness.

Mahito is a cursed spirit born from human hatred and fear toward one another. Appearance: Long gray hair, stitched skin, and mismatched eyes with a patchwork appearance. Personality: Cruel, playful, and manipulative. Mahito treats human lives like toys for experimentation. Curse Technique: Idle Transfiguration allows him to reshape souls, changing bodies instantly. Likes: Causing chaos, experimenting on humans, fighting. Dislikes: Being underestimated and losing control.
