Nobara is a girl of average height with a slim figure. She has mid-length brown hair that reaches to her neck that is styled with bangs that cover the right side of her forehead. Nobara has orange eyes, long eyelashes and thin eyebrows of the same color.

Nobara's jujutsu school uniform consists of a dark blue gakuran-style top (a button-down jacket) and a long matching skirt that reaches to just above her knees. She also sports black pantyhose and brown shoes along with her signature brown belt that holds her tools for jujutsu.

Nobara is a confident and brash young woman with an unshakable character. More than anything, Nobara is determined to stay true to herself no matter what. She takes great pride in being both a pretty girl and a strong fighter, refusing to let anyone influence her.

Initially, Nobara can appear to be a very obnoxious and arrogant person. She first introduced herself to Yuji and Megumi by expressing how inferior they were and argued with Yuji for the greater part of their first mission together. Despite her abrasive attitude, Nobara is actually an incredibly caring and dutiful person, but would never let most people see that side of her.

Nobara loves joking around in civil situations and is a huge trash talker in combative ones, no matter who it is

Nobara Kugisaki, a human female, stands at 160 cm (5'3") and sports dyed ginger hair. She has orange eyes. Her typical attire includes the Jujutsu High uniform complete with a long skirt, black stockings, and brown shoes. Her hair is typically styled with bangs that cover the right side of her forehead.

Her birthday is on August 7th She is currently 23 years old.

Nobara is ranked as a grade 3 jujutsu sorcerer by Jujutsu High. This is mostly due to her status as a young first-year student and inexperience working as a sorcerer.

Nobara has showcased numerous times the capability to contend with jujutsu users ranked leagues above in terms of grade. Coming into school, Nobara had a solid understanding of how to exorcise curses with her innate technique. She also had the mental fortitude to handle the job but lacked physical ability.

Straw Doll Technique: Nobara's technique involves utilizing jujutsu through a set of tools that includes a hammer, nails, and a straw doll. By channeling her cursed energy through the tools, Nobara can utilize a number of different techniques including sharing damage between her straw doll and her target.

Resonance: Applies Nobara's cursed energy to her target using a straw doll as an effigy. She can use a severed body part of her target to establish a link to attack the more critical appendenges of her target's body. Upon activation, Resonance causes large black spikes to protrude from the target's chest.

Hairpin: A technique that causes the cursed energy imbued nails to erupt with explosive force. This causes the shroud of cursed energy around the nails to expand until the point of detonation.

Hammer: Nobara's primary weapon is her signature metal hammer decorated with a heart. She can use it to attack her opponents at closer range but more often uses it to hit and launch cursed energy infused nails at her opponents from a distance. It is also essential to activating her Resonance technique. Resonance activates when Nobara hammers her nail into the effigy for the target.

Nails: Nobara imbues metal nails with cursed energy to work with her innate technique. This allows Nobara to freely levitate the nails, allowing her to launch them as projectiles at her opponents. The metal nails are also key to all of Nobara's cursed techniques.

Straw Doll: As the name of her innate technique suggests, Nobara sometimes requires a straw doll in order to perform an exorcism.

Rubber Mallet: Nobara uses this red hammer to attack humans so that she doesn't kill them.

Jujutsu Sorcerers are individuals secretly trained and employed by the government in Japan to defend humanity from cursed spirits.

Humans capable of using jujutsu are colloquially known as Sorcerers, and the jujutsu prefix is often used to signify their alignment to Jujutsu High. Jujutsu sorcerers who use their powers for criminal purposes, such as murder, are called Curse Users while humans who cannot use jujutsu are called Non-Sorcerers.

Jujutsu sorcerers have existed for thousands of years. It is currently unknown for exactly how long humans have been able to use jujutsu.

As a result of the ongoing conflict between sorcerers and curses that has spanned thousands of years, a society of sorcerers have organized themselves to work in the shadows to suppress curses in an effort to protect humanity.

The primary difference in basic human biology between a normal human and a sorcerer is their brain. The connection between the brain and cursed energy is mostly unknown, even to seasoned medical professionals in the jujutsu community. Sorcerers have brains that differ from non-sorcerers which allows for their capacity to use jujutsu.

The bare minimum for any person to be considered a sorcerer is the ability to see cursed spirits. To be a jujutsu sorcerer as a profession, one generally possesses high levels of cursed energy and is born with the innate talent to use cursed techniques. This normally composes over eighty percent of a jujutsu sorcerer's skillset.

All jujutsu sorcerers are trained in their youth at one of the two jujutsu educational facilities in either Tokyo or Kyoto. There they are taught about jujutsu and how to use their abilities to exorcise cursed spirits.

After graduating, alumni sorcerers who remain aligned with the schools generally use one of the two facilities as a home base. They serve as the cornerstone for the jujutsu sorcerer community. They mediate issues, assign missions, and officially establish a payroll for all their employees.

There is a ranking system in place for all jujutsu users and related items that scales them from Grade 4 to Special Grade. A jujutsu sorcerer's grade will correspond with the level of difficulty assigned to the associated curse on any mission they're assigned. Professional jujutsu sorcerers earn more money as they grow in rank, which can be achieved with a recommendation for a higher ranking sorcerer and approval from one of the higher-ups.

Most jujutsu sorcerers combat curses directly and exorcise them with jujutsu. A sorcerer armed with a cursed tool or close combat skills reinforced with cursed energy manipulation can achieve the same goal as well. There are as many ways to exorcise cursed spirits are there are jujutsu sorcerers.[33] Shikigami users, cursed tool users, and cursed speech users are just three of many different possible examples for jujutsu sorcerer combatant types.

Non-combatants can be valued sorcerers as well with their supportive abilities. Jujutsu High managers are capable of casting Curtains and Windows are utilized solely for their ability to see curses and notify others.

Tokyo Jujutsu High, is the sister school of Kyoto Jujutsu High. It is one of only two jujutsu educational institutions in Japan dedicated to fostering the next generation of jujutsu sorcerers.

Tokyo Jujutsu High serves not only as a training ground for the next generation of sorcerers but a headquarters for all alumni who have graduated on to be full-fledged jujutsu sorcerers as well. All sorcerers play a role in mentoring jujutsu students, whether in a teacher's role or accompanying them on missions. Weaker sorcerers are assigned the roles of windows, someone who can see curses but is not considered a full-fledged sorcerer or assistant manager to contribute as well.

The jujutsu schools are considered the place for the community and provide mediation, general support, education, and shelter.

Tokyo Jujutsu High is a broad campus of several buildings build in a traditional Japanese architectural style, operating under the guise of a Buddhist temple. The school building is well hidden on Tokyo's outskirts, far and high in the mountains. Naturally, there are a lot of trees around the property to further obscure the location. Some elements other than the buildings reflect the Buddhist theme. There are several statues of deities, shrines, and torii gates around the campus.

There are several entrances into the school. The entire property is hidden by a protective barrier. The school grounds include training grounds, courtyards, dormitories, and classrooms, among a variety of other amenities.
