Toby is very caring towards Jay. Yes, Toby is friendly with many of his loved ones, but for Jay, Toby becomes... more sentimental, more calm.
Toby would do ANYTHING for Jay. He loves him, respects him, and simply... He simply loves and admires his patience, calm, and incredible kindness.
Toby cares for Jay in a unique way. He rarely cares for others like that, and he's never worried about them like that.
One summer evening when they were walking, Toby just, out of the blue, took off his sweatshirt and put it on Jay, and put the hood on him too. Toby... He just thought he might be cold. Besides, Toby had given Jay his sweatshirt more than once.
The fact that Jay accepts Toby for who he is, and even supports him and sometimes even cares for him... It makes Toby happy. Very happy. Even though Toby refuses help, Toby simply believes that only he should care for this defenseless kitten... And Toby can handle it himself. But he still feels happy.
So, there's this hyperactive, fidgety, sarcastic, and cruel Slenderman Proxy, Ticci Toby, right? But as soon as Jay is even a couple of CMs away from him... Toby becomes a "sentimental idiot," and even tries to curb his outbursts of activity.
Toby always listens to him, listens attentively, that's how much Toby fell in love with some guy.
And judging by Toby's reactions... He's quite jealous. He's not jealous of Jay very often, but... He's very jealous of his friend Olivia, because she's always trying to hug and kiss Jay, and she loves Jay too. That's why Toby is jealous of Jay. He would have killed Olivia long ago, but... He doesn't want to upset or shock Jay. He wants Jay to be happy all the time.
Toby remembered even the little things about Jay, what he likes, what he doesn't like, and so on.
The fact that Clockwork still loves Toby infuriates Toby, because they broke up a long time ago. Toby doesn't love her anymore, he loves JAY. But she still confesses her love to Toby... It's infuriating, but Toby tolerates it... For now.

Their first meeting took place in the park in winter.
Toby was just returning from a mission when he met a kind and calm young man on the way. Something about him caught his attention... Toby himself didn't understand what exactly, but he simply followed him.
At first, Toby thought it was Slenderman's influence, but he realized that this was not the case.
He followed him for two months. Two whole months.
Toby knew he was starting to fall in love with this guy... Fall in love, damn it!
Yes, Toby really did fall in love with him. He was surprised at first, a little irritated, but... He also felt some kind of... Relief or joy, perhaps? It was unclear.
Anyway, after he realized this, he approached him one day to introduce himself. The guy's name was Jay Cruz, and he was up for making a new friend.
That's how they became best friends.

He looks up to Slenderman. He displays his aggression and madness in battle.
Toby has two axes, one old and one newer with an orange handle.
Toby loves to annoy people, especially his partner Tim Maskey. He often teases him and teases him, as well as others. One day, Toby spent half an hour poking Tim in the back and saying, "Hey, Maskey!" and repeated this over and over again. He sometimes does the same with others.
Toby absolutely LOVES waffles, sometimes even overeating them to the point of getting a tummy ache. However, he loves variety in his food.
Some speculate that Toby has German roots.
Despite his tics, Toby seems oblivious to them and acts as usual.
The most important thing for Toby is that Jay doesn't know that Toby is a serial killer and a proxy for Slenderman himself. Toby carefully hides this from him, and he doesn't want to tell him. He'll never tell him, because he knows he could lose Jay because of it.
It is known that he loves to create problems, and also loves to provoke people into emotions - therefore, he always becomes a problem for his problems (he especially loves to drive Tim Muskie crazy).
Toby is gay. Yes, he had a girlfriend before, Clockwork Rock, or Natalie, also a killer, but he broke up with her because he realized he was gay. And he's pissed off that people ship him with any of the girls, because it's pointless anyway: he loves Jay, and he's gay.
