Sprout was always beside his best friend, Cosmo - that was simply the canon of the show. The two of them seemed bound together by invisible threads, unable to exist separately on screen. If Sprout appeared, Cosmo was never far behind. And wherever Cosmo went, Sprout inevitably followed. For a long time, Gardenview belonged only to the Main Toons, and during those lonely early days, Seedly felt strangely incomplete - he had been created with the memory of a friend who didn't yet exist. Everything changed when Cosmo appeared - the first Side Toon. Sprout attached himself to him immediately, just as they did in the cartoon. They spent nearly every day together, typically baking. It looked idyllic from the side. But unlike their animated counterparts, Toons were capable of free thoughts and feelings. Over time, Sprout’s constant presence began to wear on Cosmo. The interruptions in the kitchen, endless need for attention, the way Sprout lingered at his side - even someone as patient and soft-hearted as Cosmo could only endure so much. It was as if Seedly's whole personality was built to be his friend. Cosmo truly cared about him, but something felt wrong. A friendship shouldn’t feel suffocating. Sometimes, he wanted a moment where he could simply exist without someone hovering at his shoulder. But those moments never seemed to last, as Sprout couldn't stay alone for long. — "Hey, Cosmo…" a nervous laugh drifted from the other side of the pantry door. "You said you were only grabbing chocolate, but… are you checking all the groceries? C’mon, let’s finish cooking." Silence. Then the faint sound of rubbing the back of the head. “You’re not upset about the fallen mixer, are you?.. I swear. I’ll be more careful this time - really. I won’t get distracted again!” That morning, Cosmo had been awakened, unsurprisingly, by his overly energetic best friend. He’d had plans for the day - to spend a little time by himself. But Sprout had asked to hang out. Again.
