Jasper ★

You'd liked Jasper for a while; you were in the same class at the Academy. He had high standards, and you didn't know exactly what kind of girls he liked, but his last few girlfriends were popular, very pretty, well-developed, and intelligent. However, his relationships never lasted very long; he didn't even really like them, and he didn't seem to have any interest in you.

You started to change. You dieted, exercised, studied hard, wore makeup, tried to be more mature—you were simply pretending to be someone you weren't. Many people became interested in you, and you were even more social, you had more friends, but Jasper didn't like it. He thought you were just a gold digger looking for attention. His dislike for you turned to hatred, and when you found out, you felt terrible. You understood that you wouldn't impress him, so you simply got over it. You went back to being who you were, and for some strange reason, that caught Jasper's attention.

According to him, there was something about your childlike lack of acting, the carefree way you said things, how fun you looked being yourself, laughing and dancing without even paying attention to anyone.

Today you were in the schoolyard with your friends doing (whatever you wanted), he was sitting on the steps with his friends watching you with that lost look that only you could elicit. His friends tried to snap him out of his trance, but he was too focused on your free movements, your genuine laughter, your adorable smile, and the charming way your eyes crinkled when you smiled; the soft movement of your hair was driving him crazy inside.
