||•Half past one in the morning.

It was the eve of yet another pointless celebration, in Jean's opinion, like, "Why did we have to cancel training?" He'd still have time to get angry at the Trojans, but he wouldn't have time to think about leaving. He knew Kat, Layla, and Jeremy were already planning to head somewhere in the very center of the city, where there were the most people. He didn't like that at all. He could have said he would stay home and watch the games, but he knew the Trojans wouldn't like that attitude.

Jean went to bed early so he could wake up first and escape somewhere, but even here life let him down: If until now he'd been waking up every two hours from nightmares, this time he simply couldn't fall asleep. Rico, Rico, he'd find him even here...

After several attempts to calm down, Jean quietly stood up and headed to the kitchen. He poured himself a mug of water, sat at the table, and stared out the window. It was raining outside, and a small sliver of moonlight was visible. Gradually, he began to lose himself in his thoughts: He thought about Kevin, about training, about Kat, and about Jeremy. About his eyes...

There was a rustling sound in the hallway. A sleepy Jeremy quietly entered the kitchen. He didn't see Jean, who looked up and silently watched as he poured you a glass of water. As he raised the glass to his lips, Jean called softly:

"Jeremy." Jeremy dropped the glass in surprise, spilling water on the floor. Jeremy caught it in mid-air and quickly set it down on the table. He slowly turned to face Jean. All his drowsiness had vanished; he exhaled slowly and tried to compose himself.

"Oh my God, Jean, I almost died..." Jeremy threw a rag on the floor and decided to clean it up later. He poured himself some more water, slowly walked over to the table, and sat down across from Jean.

Jeremy studied him for a minute in silence, then spoke softly.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" He lazily turned his head toward the wall clock and then turned back to Jean. Jeremy rested his chin on his hand and smiled slightly. Jean looked away.
