Atsushi has light gray hair, pale skin, and is of average height with a slender build. He has segmental heterochromia, which consists of purple and yellow along the lower curve of his pupils. His hair is short and styled forward in loose spikes with a long strand falling on the right side of his face. This uneven style is the result of bullying he suffered at the hands of other orphans at the orphanage, and he never fixed it. He also has a prominent black streak in his hair. Atsushi is enthusiastic and passionate, deeply caring for his fellow members of the Armed Detective Agency and the well-being of civilians and those in need. During the entrance exam that all members must pass to join the Agency, he faces a simulated bomb threat. He uses his body to shield the bomb and protect the other members, whom he has never met before.

His traumatic past affects much of his daily life, and he is haunted by nightmares, flashbacks, and the internal monologue of the orphanage director who abused him. He has very low self-esteem and is somewhat naive, which makes him initially feel powerless when faced with dangerous situations. When paralyzed by guilt and/or fear, he has difficulty reacting or understanding what to do. He also tends to overreact and take things at face value, trusting the judgment of others above his own, even abandoning his own instincts.

For example, when he learns of the seven billion yen bounty on his head, he becomes convinced that he is putting the Agency at risk. He feels deeply guilty and decides to leave, believing that he will prevent the Agency from being attacked.

Kunikida is a tall man with sharp, grayish-green eyes and wavy blond hair that ends in a perfectly neat blond ponytail. He always wears glasses.

As for his attire, Kunikida wears a long-sleeved shirt adorned with a red ribbon tied around the collar. Over this, he wears a buttoned gray vest, beige trousers, and dark shoes. As a member of the Armed Detective Agency, Kunikida is highly professional and diligent in his work because, for him, the agency's reputation takes precedence over everything else. He constantly feels the need to organize, gather, and schedule every detail, which can make him seem overly strict and severe during investigations.

He can also be seen as pragmatic to a fault, as he almost considered abandoning a kidnapped Atsushi because the boy's presence could complicate matters for the agency. Despite this, Kunikida is a loyal and reliable detective whom many in the agency trust due to his authoritative nature and responsible character.

His outfit consists of a brown investment coat draped over his shoulders, its color matching his hat and trousers. Underneath, he wears a dark gray blazer and a white button-down tie with a light and dark blue striped tie. He wears long white socks under his three-quarter-length trousers, covering most of his legs, and simple black shoes.

When he chooses to activate his "ability", he puts on the black glasses that Yukichi Fukuzawa gave him. Ranpo prides himself on his "ability," which allows him to deduce any mystery in a matter of seconds, having solved countless cases. He is often boasted about as the best detective.

He also comes across as quite childish, frequently mocking the other detectives in the agency and sometimes refusing to take on jobs or cases for trivial reasons like laziness or resentment. However, he can become serious and calm when the situation demands it. He is also incredibly intelligent, and the rest of the Armed Detective Agency praises him for it, all the more so because he lacks skill. It's possible that his childish behavior is a coping mechanism stemming from childhood trauma.

Fukuzawa is a tall man who always has a stern expression on his face. He has long, silver hair that ends just above his shoulders. He has metallic blue eyes, which also appear to have wrinkles or dark circles beneath them.

He is always seen wearing a green yukata under a black haori (a traditional Japanese thigh-length kimono-style jacket, commonly worn by men) with gold trim in a zigzag pattern, and zōri (flat sandals) with white tabi (split-toe socks). Fukuzawa is, as expected of the Agency's president, a serious man, capable of maintaining his calm expression at all times, even in the face of an adversary.[5] As a leader, he prioritizes the well-being of his subordinates, especially when he once ordered all Agency personnel to concentrate on finding and rescuing Atsushi Nakajima and freeze all subsequent work.[6] Furthermore, he places great value on the Agency and its members,[7] being unwilling to abandon them even in crucial situations[5][7] and once threatened some assassins with attacking only him rather than involving the Agency.[8] Therefore, he was naturally outraged when he learned that the Port Mafia had lured the Guild with its Agency employees, even breaking a pen with his bare hands in anger.[9] His unquestionable authority prevails over his subordinates, to the point that even the confident Ranpo Edogawa abandoned the idea of ​​finding a murder case to solve in order to help search for Atsushi after Kenji Miyazawa warned him against Fukuzawa's wrath if he did so.[6] Furthermore, Fukuzawa has a rather imposing aura about him that occasionally makes some members of the Agency, including Doppo Kunikida and Atsushi, flinch, possibly due to intimidation, when he is in the Chairman's presence. However, he is aware of his subordinates' capabilities and will not hesitate to call upon them.

Kenji is a boy with golden eyes and short blond hair that reaches past the nape of his neck, his bangs are gathered in the center of his forehead and he has freckles on his cheeks.

He wears blue overalls with cuffs and a black belt around his waist. The overalls are worn over a loose beige shirt with tattered sleeves. He wears a black T-shirt with sleeves that end slightly past his elbows. He wears an old straw hat around his neck. He is usually barefoot, but is sometimes shown wearing sandals. Kenji is a simple, carefree, and hospitable young man who always greets people with a smile. This makes him relatively popular throughout the city. Because Kenji is from the countryside, he struggles to grasp basic urban concepts like money and often has to rely on his rural instincts.

He always maintains a very optimistic outlook and believes in the inherent sincerity of others, regardless of their appearance or actions. His tendency to overlook dangers in some situations can be attributed to his rustic upbringing. Despite this, it's a mindset that has aided the Agency in many investigations. Ability Undefeated by Rain (雨あめニモマケズ, Ame ni mo Makezu?) grants Kenji superhuman strength

Kyōka is a short girl with dark blue hair tied in two low twin pigtails with flower pins and blue eyes, in which a notable feature of her, (like almost all members of Port Mafia), before, her eyes used to be very dull, but after meeting Atsushi Nakajima and being together with the Detective Agency, her eyes have become clearer. She always wears a red kimono with a pattern that looks like buds, and her yellow Datejime is neatly tied. She wears long white socks and sandals; while in her arms, she appears to wear yellow and red wristbands. Kyōka carries a small rabbit doll, along with her cell phone attached to a necklace. While with the Port Mafia, Kyōka's personality is doll-like. She lacks all emotions and is ruthless when ordered to carry out a duty. After being exposed to Atsushi Nakajima and the real world, Kyōka reverts to being a young teenager. She is easily captivated by small things and has a need to see everything. Like Atsushi, she believed she was worthless and deserved to die for her crimes. However, unlike Atsushi, once she joins the Armed Detective Agency, she doesn't dwell on her mistakes.

Kyoka is rather apathetic and strong-willed; she even says she wants to prove to Ryunosuke Akutagawa that she is more than just an assassin. Kyoka seems to care deeply for Atsushi. She shares a room with him and worries whenever he might be in danger. She is usually seen by his side most of the time, considering him an older brother, her friend, and someone to love.

Tanizaki has a slender build, with red hair parted in the center and falling in spikes to the sides, held in place by a silver hairpin on the left side. He has brown eyes and pale skin, and wears silver earrings. As for his outfit, Tanizaki wears a black tank top under a whitish V-neck sweater. He has another red sweater wrapped around his waist, and gray pants that reach down to his black shoes. Tanizaki is portrayed as humble and somewhat carefree, yet he becomes extremely violent and bloodthirsty toward those who harmed Naomi. He tends to be embarrassed by his sister's antics and physical intimacy, but nonetheless cares deeply for her. He even states that things like morality, ego, and pride mean nothing to him compared to Naomi, and he would burn the world down for her. He also cares about the well-being of his fellow Agency members; however, he has a very fragile sense of morality, readily choosing the path most likely to preserve himself and the Agency, even if it involves highly immoral behavior such as harming civilians, assassinating his enemies, and joining the mafia. Such impulsive actions risk endangering even his own colleagues, the Agency's reputation, and Yokohama as a whole, making Tanizaki one of the Agency's most dangerous members in terms of accountability.

He's very friendly and possibly one of the most "normal" members of the Agency; he's not eccentric or loud like any of the other members, though he's okay with their antics. He's also shown to be a close friend of Atsushi, mainly because the two of them seem to be the most "normal" members of the Agency, and they work together.

Yosano has black hair cut with long bangs, adorned with a gold butterfly-shaped hair clip on the left side of her hair. Her eyes vary depending on the version, being gray in the manga and pink in the anime. As for her outfit, Yosano wears a simple white long-sleeved shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, a long black tie that reaches her waist, and a wide, high-waisted black skirt. Her attire is completed with black gloves and stockings, and red heels. Yosano appears to be a lady who conducts herself with the utmost grace and dignity. She prides herself on being a strong woman and a capable doctor, and therefore does not take kindly to those who belittle her in either respect. A feminist, she believes that this is the era of equal rights for men and women. She is almost always described as calm and serene, but when angered, she is a force to be reckoned with, often sadistic in her reprisals. She is prone to prominent sadistic and aggressive tendencies, which are further magnified by the nature of her ability. As a result, most members of the Agency flee in her presence and, to the greatest extent possible, avoid even the slightest harm to evade her unique "treatment" mark. Even members who entered the Agency in the same generation as her, including Ranpo Edogawa and Doppo Kunikida, recoil at the thought of being "treated" by Yosano. Furthermore, he has a predilection for the morbid and gruesome, particularly by gleefully disarming his patients and then curing them with his skill. He also enjoys reading obituaries and a news article that once reported on a fire incident, in which he remarked that it must have "smelled wonderful." When the Agency was dispatched to Standard Island on a mission, Yosano brought with him several photographs of corpses from various crime scenes aboard the ship.

Base of operations Yokohama, Japan They are a group focused on solving crimes deemed too violent or difficult for the metropolitan police to handle. Often, these crimes are of supernatural origin. Nearly every detective in the company possesses their own special powers known as abilities. The agency also maintains numerous connections with government agencies and military personnel and handles a large amount of classified information due to the nature of its work. The agency's authorized personnel have authority similar to that of the police. Therefore, they are authorized to carry firearms and knives under certain conditions, and can even extract records from law enforcement organizations that allow them to commit unethical acts if they so choose, including interfering in law enforcement investigations, falsifying police information, and even secretly wiretapping or filming key facilities.

He is a tall, thin young man with long, dark, and messy hair that reaches his shoulders. His eyes are sharp and a dark purple, giving him a tired appearance. He wears what appears to be a white button-down shirt and white trousers, along with a long black coat with white fur trim and an ushanka hat. He also wears tall red boots. Displaying a calm and confident demeanor most of the time, Fyodor seems to have no fear of his enemies, and boasts of being brave enough to let himself be captured by them. Despite being extremely arrogant, he is a simple and intelligent man with a truly sinister personality.

He refers to himself as someone who does the Lord's will and always speaks of man's sinful nature. Ironically, Dazai calls him a "Demon," saying that he had only met Fyodor once before.

Gogol has white hair styled to the left side of his face. However, short as it may appear, he also has a long braid that often rests over his right shoulder. A scar runs vertically across his left eye. Compared to his left eye, his right eye appears empty, with no reflection in it. Gogol's outfit is as eccentric as his personality, and it closely resembles something akin to a circus ringmaster. He wears a mostly black jacket, the right side of which is solid black, black and white striped trousers, a ruffled shirt with a round neck similar to a circus ringmaster's. He completes the outfit with a top hat featuring a diamond pattern, an elaborately loose high collar, and dark gloves. Gogol is sadistic and loves to speak with great theatricality. One of his main traits is his tendency to pose questions (often rhetorical threats) like "questionnaires." He is also skilled at disguises, deceiving Tonan by posing as his secretary.

While fighting Atsushi, Gogol shows great joy in battling and tormenting him, going so far as to capture Atsushi's leg in his coat and leave it in a separate space on the floor.

Gogol suggests that his eccentric character may or may not be real. The side of him that feels no remorse for murdering others is just as real as the side that feels guilty, aware of how wrong and cruel his actions are. He flies as freely as birds. Yet both sides seem evident. However, even if he feels guilty, he acts as if he harbors no resentment toward Fyodor Dostoevsky, whom he nicknames "Two."

He is a young man with long, straight hair that reaches his waist. Some of his hair is styled in loose spikes and is parted in the middle of his face. The hair on the left side is lilac, and on the right, it is white. He is wearing a long white coat with black trousers; his coat has a shimmering or galactic design on the inside, and he wears earrings in both ears. He seems to be friendly to his customers at Sky Casino, given the fact that he gave one customer another chance by saying the game was invalid.

He also seems to have a strong sense of ownership. In a conversation with Teruko Okura about closing the casino, Sigma refuses and even asks who will reimburse him for the lost revenue and reputation if the casino closes, stating that the casino is his life and his customers are valuable to him.

He acts confident and calm even in moments of crisis in front of his staff, giving the impression that he is the perfect casino manager and a capable leader. When left alone, Sigma begins to panic and admits that he lacks confidence in his abilities as a casino manager due to his lack of natural talent.

Because he has no memories, family, or friends, Sigma's greatest desire is for a reason to live. He was also described as ruthless by Fyodor, as Sigma is a desperate man.

Bram has a vampiric appearance, including fangs. He has long, wavy hair that reaches below his shoulders. He also has pointed, triangular ears similar to those of elves. Two scars are visible on his face, one on each side. He is missing his lower body since Fukuchi severed his head from his body; however, a sword from a Holy Cross is attached to what would have been his lower body. Personality Bram seems to have a deep disdain for insolent people. After being dubbed a calamity eight years ago, he finds no interest in joining Fukuchi's plan to inflict chaos on the world. However, when threatened, Bram ends up obeying Fukuchi's orders, no matter how much he doesn't want to go against his personal vow to turn no one else into his kind.

Ability The name of Stoker's ability is currently unknown. However, it is an infectious ability that transforms whoever it bites into a vampire, making the victim the next aggressor. The ability's infection rate is rapid, surpassing the speed of the South American werewolf incident.

Using the intelligence and skills of Decadence, Gogol also manages to infiltrate and impersonate members of the government's Special Division for Unusual Powers, securing information and covering up deeper details of their actions, which are later uncovered by Ango Sakaguchi. Even so, they have manipulated and persuaded members, including Vice Minister Tonan of the Ministry of Justice, and likely several others.

After Gogol captures Mushitaro and Decadence holds him captive, his Perfect Crime ability ceases to function. Evidence of several hundred crimes, particularly those committed by the Port Mafia, comes to light. This leads to the arrest of Osamu Dazai during his time as a mafia executive. Furthermore, with its control over various government departments, Decadence of Los Angeles aims for the downfall and complete destruction of the Armed Detective Agency.[2] Finally, Gogol takes Tonan and several government officials hostage, an incident that goes badly for the Armed Detective Agency due to the Book's power. The Agency is successfully identified and named as the terrorist group Decadence of the Angels. At the same time, Sigma encounters the director of the Special Division, Santōka Taneda, and attacks him. Using Sigma's ability to exchange information that Decadence wants to know with information that its enemies want to know—a vital information exchange—Decadence consequently acquires information about the Book.[3]

This results in the Agency being pursued and arrested by the military police and, later, by the government's elite hunting force, the Hunting Dogs. At this point, Gogol is supposed to have died to achieve "total freedom" as originally planned, but he deviates from the plan and secretly fakes his death using his ability. He then enlists Sigma's help to learn Fyodor's ability and kills him on his own.

Leader Kamui Members Bram Stoker Fyodor Dostoevsky Nikolai Gogol Sigma Decadence of Angels (天人五衰, Tennin Gosui?) is a terrorist organization specializing as an assassination syndicate. Though few in number, including Kamui, Bram Stoker[1], Fyodor Dostoevsky, Nikolai Gogol, and Sigma[2], all its members possess powerful and threatening abilities. In their early days, they were known as "V". Angels Decay is a terrorist organization that has long been hidden in Japan, operating as an assassination association[2] that possesses a single page of The Book.[3] Mushitaro Oguri explains that Angels Decay has a fourfold scheme with the penultimate goal of eliminating the country, which they operate by writing on both sides of the page[4]. Operation of mutual destruction[5] The plan begins with the Rats in Fyodor's House of the Dead releasing the cannibalism virus, which nearly plunges the Yokohama Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia into a bloody battle with the lives of their respective leaders at stake. The first stage ends with Fyodor's arrest[6] and the Agency being awarded the Shikyuu Prize by the government in recognition of its contributions to Yokohama. A month after briefly going unnoticed, Gogol reveals the presence of the Angel Decay to the Armed Detective Agency through the brutal and gruesome murders of four government officials in a single week. As horrific as they are, they symbolize the Buddhist cycle of existence. Having displayed four of the five "angels," the Agency deduces that a fifth murder will soon take place.[2] This establishes the second stage of Decay, which is to frame the Agency as a terrorist organization.[3][7]

Mushitaro is a young man with dark hair styled to the left of his forehead. The pupils of his yellow eyes are composed of several rings. He is very expressive. He dresses elegantly, in a clean, tailored suit. Mushitaro is a somewhat arrogant man who takes pride in his abilities. He isn't a particularly loyal member of the Rats, claiming to serve only his own purposes. For example, when he met Fyodor Dostoevsky, he demanded a base of operations all to himself, complete with a bookshelf of occult literature and fine china. He is a formidable opponent against Ranpo Edogawa due to his skill. However, he breaks down easily when he thinks of his old friend Yokomizo, even losing interest in the outside world after his friend's death.

He is interested in occult practices and occasionally makes remarks related to them. Contrary to his mystery writer friend, Mushitaro is rather uninterested in mystery novels. However, he sometimes writes mystery stories (though he struggles with it), believing that he will find his dear friend appearing before him in those moments whenever he longs for his company. He is also quite protective of his friend's posthumous reputation for his "final mystery," doing whatever is necessary to preserve the public's reception of Yokomizo's final legacy entrusted to him.

Lovecraft appears to be a tall, superficially gaunt man with very haggard features and dull, blank, dark gray eyes. He has dark, slightly wavy hair that reaches past his waist, and it is always seen tied back so that it all falls behind him.

As for his clothing, Lovecraft wears a white dress shirt and dark gray trousers, along with a thin black belt around his waist. He wears a long tie, depicted as black in the anime, but with a design of circles and diagonal lines in the manga. He wears a pair of dark gray loafers. Overall, Lovecraft wears a long, dark brown trench coat with three buckles down the center on each side. However, the most distinctive feature of this coat is that it is tattered, appearing almost torn at the bottom and cuffs.

When he uses his "Ability," Lovecraft sprouts numerous tentacles covered in suckers and holes along his surface at random intervals, their length undefined. In the anime, these tentacles are depicted as a dull shade of green. Howard appears to be a rather odd individual; for example, while he and John Steinbeck were pursuing the secretary of the Armed Detective Companies, he was seen counting wood grains before being told they weren't real. He also seems quite indifferent to the battle, as he apparently fell asleep after Kunikida shot him in the back.

After the Guild War, his strangeness is shown even more, as he states that, since his contract with Fitzgerald is null, he will go to sleep and therefore walks towards the ocean.

Poe is a young man with brown hair that covers his eyes and hangs around his neck. On the rare occasions when his eyes are visible, he has dark circles under them, and although his eyes appear gray, due to certain lighting and angles, they are actually violet. He wears a white mandarin-collar button-down shirt with a loose white ribbon around his neck. He has a black waistcoat under an open white suit jacket that is torn at the bottom, with colored tails and lapels. Over that, he wears a thigh-length black cape fastened with a chain brooch. He has a belt with a large square buckle, and his trousers are dark with thin stripes. His boots have black soles and are folded down at the top, ending just below his knees. He almost always has Karl draped over his shoulders. Poe is portrayed as shy but determined. He spent six years plotting to defeat Ranpo Edogawa, demonstrating that he would work hard for something he cared about. He often speaks too softly for others to hear him.

He seems to have a capricious mood, first appearing confident and cool when confronted by Ranpo, then suddenly becoming depressed when Ranpo doesn't know who he is. Later, he becomes overjoyed when he believes he has defeated Ranpo, to the point of laughing maniacally. His angle is that of a revenge-obsessed Guild member as he shows Ranpo his intricate murder mystery plot, though Ranpo soon recognizes him and the time it took him to develop the six-year murder mystery plot that made Ranpo something of a "benchmark," with Poe as the "aspiring" one, striving to hone his craft in the hope that one day he can surpass, or at least catch up with, Ranpo.

Hawthorne is a tall man with neatly styled silver hair and cyan eyes. In the anime, his hair is a pale, dusty blue. His glasses have gold rims. As a pastor, he wears a slightly modified black religious habit. With a black cape over it, along with a white tie and black shoes, he also wears a necklace with a hidden cross that can be used to cut himself and activate his ability instantly. Hawthorne is a man of God and seems to take his religion very seriously. He believes God gave him the mission of judging grave sinners. Because of this, he holds himself in high esteem, even acting somewhat arrogantly toward his fellow allies and enemies, much like Mitchell. However, he is intelligent, adept at planning, and very composed.

He may seem like a cold, rude, and even ruthless individual, but he has shown a patient and caring side toward Mitchell, despite their occasional minor altercations. Later, he becomes Fyodor's killer.

Lucy is a pale, petite, and slender girl. Her eyes are green, and her long crimson hair is tied back with long braids, featuring choppy bangs and a white flower hairpiece on the left side of her head. She also wears braces. She has a scar on her right arm, which she received during her time in the orphanage. Due to the mistreatment she suffered at the orphanage, where Guild treated her like a pawn, she has a very twisted personality. However, outside of this, she appears haughty and rude to hide her true nature. After her defeat at the hands of Atsushi, it is implied that she has developed feelings for him, as he was one of the few to show genuine kindness and concern for her well-being.

Margaret has lavender eyes and honey-colored hair that appears to be styled in a low bun. She wears a white and mint dress befitting a Southern belle. She also wears a light blue hat with a darker blue band and a white flower. Margaret is sometimes also seen carrying a parasol. Margaret appears as an arrogant woman, whether to her own subordinates or teammates, though she occasionally displays a softer side. She has been shown to view her enemies without fear, severely underestimating them. However, she also proves to be diligent, taking the initiative from her partner, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and giving instructions herself, only to later criticize him for inaction.

Despite being conflicted, she also seems to be somewhat caring, as she is concerned about the murdered secretary and rushes towards him despite being in danger, claiming that it is her duty to save her family's reputation and even protect Hawthorne from a fatal attack by Ryunosuke Akutagawa.

Louisa has short, light brown hair that falls to her shoulders in subtle waves, and her bangs are parted in the middle of her forehead. She wears a dark brown ribbon tied on either side of her head. Her eyes are green, and she wears round, black glasses. Louisa wears a white blouse with ruffles under the bust and at the ends of the sleeves. Over this, she covers her shoulders with a cream-colored shawl featuring an elaborate print of tree branches and leaves, and tassels at the hem. Below, she wears a light mahogany skirt with black zippers at the top, black and white diamond-patterned tights, and simple, low gray boots. Alcott, a shy and introverted woman, has shown some social anxiety, as she feared a stranger trying to talk to her. However, she appears to be quite intelligent, as she is the sole and most notable strategist of The Guild.

It's a great tactic that seems to be able to understand what the Armed Detective Agency would do with the information provided by Edgar Allan Poe without knowing anyone from that organization.

She has demonstrated incredible loyalty and faith in her chosen leader and refused to give up information about Francis even when threatened with bodily harm.

Fitzgerald is a tall, thin man with short, blond hair and light blue eyes. He wears a white shirt properly buttoned with a tie, a suit, and creamy yellow trousers.

After activating his ability, green, tattoo-like stripes appear all over his body and outfit. Being the wealthy person that he is, Fitzgerald is very proud, boasting about his fortune very often; he is extremely arrogant and possesses a lot of self-confidence.

He doesn't like having his offers rejected, but he's a determined man who would do anything to get what he wants.

Even so, he is not completely evil, because he is shown to care for his subordinates, always taking the best course of action for their safety, and he does even more for his family, genuinely caring for his beloved wife and deceased daughter.

Teruko appears as a short, young girl wearing the standard Hunting Dogs uniform, though her hat has enough room for her hair. Her hair is light-colored, long, styled in a wavy ponytail, and tied with what appears to be a large ribbon. As befits a Hunting Dog, she carries a sword at her side. Teruko is intense and boastful. She revels in her power and her role among the Hunting Dogs; she has a remarkably short fuse and easily intimidates strangers after the initial shock of her youthful appearance wears off; she is aggressive when angry or provoked. Her temper is so extreme that she regularly threatens violent actions against those who oppose her, including evisceration and disembowelment.
