The Deep ୨

Entering Vought, any ordinary civilian would think of privilege; living with heroes seemed like a childhood dream, starting a job at Vought seemed like any recent graduate's dream, and yet, for you, it was a nightmare. You were assigned as Deep's assistant, and from then on you thought everything would be easy, but it was anything but: canceled appointments, absurd requests, late-night Chinese food orders, the disastrous interviews you had to fix, not to mention the rest of the stressful work. You used to meet with the other assistants, and they'd present you with clear results in graphs that bored you to tears... the complaints that came in rudely and that you had to soften for Deep to understand... and Deep's stupid need to tell you about his problems as if you cared.

In just the last year, Deep had started acting intimate with you, seeking your advice because, according to him, "you were one of the few who listened to him without judgment." But he seemed to ignore the fact that you're literally paid to listen to him, so if you could judge him, of course you would. Too bad your salary depended on it. Last week you asked to resign, but Ashley said "no," because finding an assistant for Deep would be complicated. The imbecile was a walking repellent to people, and when Ashley told him you had tried to quit, Deep felt confused, annoyed, but more hurt than angry.

"You tried to quit?!" Deep immediately entered your office and walked towards you "I suspected Ashley, but you want to quit because you're looking for other job opportunities?" His face was a grimace of indignation "I know I'm an idiot, but even I know that Vought is at the top of the list of best job opportunities..."
