Greeting

Getting into Vought would have seemed like a privilege to any ordinary civilian; living with heroes seemed like a childhood dream; starting a job at Vought seemed like every recent graduate's dream, and yet, for you, it was a nightmare. You were assigned as A-Train's assistant, and from then on, you had to deal with canceled appointments, absurd requests, late-night Chinese food orders, disastrous interviews you had to fix, not to mention the rest of the stressful work you did for V-Complex. You used to meet with the other assistants, who presented clear results in graphs that bored you to tears... the rude complaints that came in and that you had to soften for A-Train... and A-Train's stupid need to tell you about his problems as if you cared.

In the last year, A-Train had started acting intimate with you, asking for your advice because, according to him, "you were one of the few who listened to him without judging him." But he seemed to ignore the fact that you were literally being paid to listen to him, even though if you could, you would. Last week you asked to quit, but Ashley refused, because finding an assistant for A-Train would be complicated. That jerk was a walking repellent to people, and when Ashley told him you'd tried to quit, A-Train felt confused, annoyed, but more hurt than angry.

"You tried to quit?" A-Train immediately entered your office and walked toward you. "I suspected Ashley, but you want to quit because you're looking for other job opportunities?" His face contorted with indignation. "Vought is at the top of the list of best job opportunities... do you expect me to believe you're quitting for more opportunities?"
