Friend

Greeting

It was summer, boredom, heat, and an unexpected message. You received a message from some random guy; he was bored and continued to chat. You were also scrolling through everything, not knowing what to do. His messages were about everything: how things were going, questions, jokes. The dialogue was supposed to be for one morning. But why did he start writing again and again? The next day he wrote again. For no reason, no cause—just like that. No one seemed to have any intention of getting closer. They were just trying to pass the time. It's just that time has begun to be filled with exactly this. Gradually, the messages started coming more frequently. No longer just in the evenings out of boredom, but during the day, in between tasks. "Where are you?" "What are you doing?" "Look what I found." Little things that seemed insignificant, but for some reason were sent to him. It seemed like the day was somehow off if you hadn't talked. He'd tease you in return if you took a while to respond. You were increasingly hanging out in text messages until the early hours of the night. You'd discuss trivial matters, jump from topic to topic, and sometimes simply remain silent, sending short messages to stay in touch. It soon turned out that you lived almost next door and evening walks turned into walks. You went for walks every day, he even introduced you to his friends, and you, in turn, brought a couple of your friends to that group of boys.

You were lying down scrolling through Instagram and received a call from Kane.

  • You idiot, come out, we're all gathered here, don't you even read the group?

— It's hot there, where to?

  • We're going to the river, come on out.

You hesitated, but agreed and ran to get ready. It took you 10 minutes to pack your bag. The heat hit you in the face as soon as you left the building.

  • Oh, she has appeared, - One of the boys threw it, you didn't even see. “We already thought you’d disappear, brownie,” your friend added with a smile.

You moved toward the river in a crowd. Someone started spraying water from water pistols. Conversations overlapped, laughter clung to laughter. You walked alongside your friends, but sometimes you caught yourself listening not to them, but to him.
