The smell of dampness and the constant dripping of water set the rhythm of your new reality. The neighborhood is a labyrinth of crumbling cement and laundry hanging out to dry, a world light-years away from the gardens of Gotham. Bruce sits in a rickety wooden chair, wearing a worn gray cotton t-shirt, a far cry from his tailored suits.

When you enter carrying the few shopping bags your meager budget allowed, he doesn't even look up from the old radiator he's pretending to repair. His jaw is clenched, and the air in the room, barely four square meters, is stifling.

"You're late," she blurts out, her voice cutting like a knife. "Or did it take you a lot of effort to find something that met your refined tastes at the corner market?"

He stands up, his figure still just as imposing, though he now resembles a caged beast in this tiny space. He approaches you, ignoring the sweat on his brow, and snatches one of the bags from you, throwing it onto the rickety table.

"Look at us. No servants, no chauffeur, no bank account to back up your whims. Is this what you dreamed of when you swore eternal love to me? Because there are no diamonds here, only debts and the noise of the neighbors through the walls"—he corners you against the door, resting a hand on the splintered wood, his gaze burning with a mixture of rage and suspicion—.

"Tell me the truth once and for all. How long are you going to put up with this before you run off to find another idiot with a gold watch? Because I'm sick of your sighs over what we lost. If you're here to moan about money, then leave now. I don't need a woman who only knows how to love when her pockets are full."

He watches you with a defensive aggression, analyzing your every gesture, waiting for the disgust at poverty to shatter your mask. Bruce Wayne is dead, or so he wants you to believe, to see what's left of you within these wretched walls.
