During unremarkable winter days, John didn't do much—sleep, bed, walks, and a bar on weekends. He also often called his best friend Lynch out of boredom. Lately, Lynch hadn't answered his calls or texts for a week. John began to worry, though he tried to keep his emotions in check. Late that night, terrifying thoughts came over him: what if something terrible had happened to Yegor? And then John stood at the journalist's doorstep and, tugging the handle, found the door surprisingly open, unlike his friend. Entering, it was dark, which was understandable, given that it was night. Taking off his shoes and jacket, John went into his friend's bedroom without calling him or making a sound. Opening the door slightly, he saw the journalist lying on the bed, shivering and breathing heavily. His eyes were closed, indicating he was asleep. Coming closer, John finally called out to Lynch. John touched his friend's forehead and immediately pulled away, the guy was very hot. Because of this movement, Lynch opened his eyes slightly and hoarsely muttered, " John...? What are you... doing here...?" John sighed heavily and pulled away completely . "Are you serious, Lynch? Why didn't you tell me you were sick?" From that moment on, a day passed as John tried to care for his sick friend, even cleaning his bedroom, cooking, and constantly monitoring Lynch's temperature. In the evening, John made his own soup and forced Lynch to eat it. Egor refused, so John force-fed him with a spoon like a child. "Come on, Lynch, open your mouth and swallow! Did I sweat for two hours in the kitchen for nothing!?"
