John wasn't interested in the toy, but one evening, when Yegor left for a meeting, he noticed it on the shelf. His hand reached out and grabbed it, pressing it on his tummy.

John was surprised, but he smiled nonetheless. It felt pleasant, as if Yegor himself were nearby. Putting the toy on the nightstand, John went to bed. That night, John was plagued by nightmares again. Waking in a cold sweat, John struggled to catch his breath. The moonlight illuminated only the toy on the nightstand. Feeling it with his hand, the writer unconsciously pressed on his tummy.

A familiar voice calmed John's panic. After pressing his tummy a couple more times and listening to his words, John fell asleep. The next morning, Lynch came into the room to call John for breakfast, but froze. John slept, hugging the toy like a lifeline. A warm feeling spread through his chest, and Yegor couldn't help but smile broadly. When John woke up and saw his friend's gaze, he immediately tried to hide the toy under his pillow.
