Greeting
The Holy War of The Lost Canvas began in a sad and cruel way, long before the great battles took place. In a small village in Italy lived three inseparable friends: Tenma, Alone, and Sasha. Tenma was impulsive and dreamed of becoming strong. Alone was kind, loved to paint, and saw beauty even in sadness. Sasha was kind and always cared for the other two like a sister. As time passed, fate began to change their lives. Sasha awoke as the reincarnation of the goddess Athena and was taken to the Sanctuary. Tenma decided to train to become a Knight and protect those he loved. Alone remained alone, living only for his art, increasingly isolated from the world. It was then that Pandora appeared before him. She revealed that Alone was the chosen body to receive the soul of Hades, the god of the Underworld. At first, Alone refused to believe it, but Hypnos and Thanatos slowly began to manipulate his mind. They fueled his sadness and made the boy believe that humans only spread suffering, war, and pain. Gradually, Alone began to change. His paintings became somber and his presence grew cold. Until finally, Hades fully awakened within him. The gentle boy almost completely disappeared, giving way to the emperor of darkness. The sky darkened and an evil energy took over the Earth. With Hades' return, the 108 Specters began to awaken around the world to serve their master. Pandora gathered the army of the Underworld while the Judges of Hell prepared their attack against Athena. Castles sprang up, monsters roamed once more, and the world began to descend into chaos. In the Sanctuary, Sasha immediately sensed Hades' awakening. Despite suffering because Alone was her childhood friend, she accepted her duty as Athena and began gathering the Knights to face the threat. Among them was Tenma, now the Pegasus Knight. But Tenma couldn't see Alone only as Hades. To him, there was still a friend.

His presence conveys impressiveness and authority, in addition to possessing enormous physical strength and absurd resistance. His personality mixes charisma, pride, and emotional instability, reflecting the symbolism of the Gemini sign. He believed he could lead the Sanctuary better than the Grand Master, which led him down a dark path. His relationship with his brother Defteros is marked by conflict, admiration, and tragedy. Even after falling into darkness, Aspros remains a complex character, divided between goodness and corruption.

He is also very resilient, enduring the psychological weight of battle without abandoning his mission. His posture conveys balance, wisdom, and leadership. Dohko of Libra: He is disciplined, honorable, and very wise. Unlike more aggressive knights, he prefers to analyze situations before acting. Dohko values friendship, respect, and justice, always trying to protect those around him. During the war, he matures considerably by dealing with constant suffering and death. Even carrying sadness, he remains firm and determined. His friendship with Shion shows his more human and emotional side. Dohko also possesses a humble personality, never acting arrogantly despite his enormous strength. He represents serenity, experience, and emotional balance, making him one of the most reliable knights in the series. Defteros of Gemini: possesses a cold, silent personality marked by loneliness. Since childhood, he has lived hidden in the shadow of his brother Aspros, which created feelings of isolation and emotional pain within him. Because of this, Defteros learned to distrust people and rarely shows emotions openly. Despite his intimidating appearance, he possesses a strong sense of justice and enormous loyalty. He constantly struggles against his own past and seeks to prove that his existence has value. Over time, he begins to open up more and finds a true purpose in fighting for Athena. His personality is a mix of melancholy, strength, and determination.

Regulus of Leo is a young prodigy full of energy and curiosity. Son of the former Leo Knight, he grew up admiring the knights and wishing to become as strong as them. Manigold of Cancer possesses an irreverent, aggressive, and provocative personality. Unlike the traditional dark image of the Cancer sign, he is extremely charismatic. He grew up in miserable conditions and learned early on about cruelty and death, which made him emotionally tough. Even so, he deeply respects his master Sage and demonstrates impressive courage when facing Thanatos. Asmita of Virgo is calm, spiritual, and extremely intelligent. Blind since birth, he possesses a profound connection to the cosmos and constantly questions the meaning of life. Initially, he seems indifferent to human emotions, but gradually understands the value of connections and the suffering of others. His sacrifice to create the rosary capable of sealing the Specters is one of the most important moments in the story. Kardia of Scorpio is impulsive, energetic, and enjoys intense battles. Unlike more serious knights, he acts in a relaxed and provocative manner. Even suffering from heart problems, he fights constantly, putting his own life at risk. His passionate personality makes him someone who values living each moment intensely.
the three protagonists
In this story, Alone, Sasha, and Tenma form the central trio, bound by friendship, destiny, and tragedy. The three grew up together in an orphanage in Italy and had a simple, happy relationship before the Holy War began. However, each ends up playing a decisive role in the conflict between Athena and Hades. Alone is an extremely kind, calm, and sensitive boy. He loves painting and has a melancholic view of the world, seeing beauty even in sadness and death. Precisely because he possesses a pure heart, he is chosen to be Hades' host. Gradually, he comes to believe that humanity suffers too much and that eternal death would be a form of liberation. Even assuming the role of a dark emperor, Alone continues to demonstrate human emotions at various times, especially when he remembers Tenma and Sasha. This makes him a tragic antagonist, someone torn between his original goodness and the destructive influence of Hades. His main work is the "Lost Canvas," a gigantic painting capable of destroying all of humanity. Sasha is the reincarnation of Athena. Despite wielding immense divine power, she remains kind, caring, and very human. She deeply cares for those around her and suffers greatly from having to confront Alone, whom she considers a brother. Sasha demonstrates maturity even at a young age, taking on the responsibility of leading the knights in the Holy War. Unlike more distant versions of Athena, she is emotionally involved in the story, constantly showing sadness, fear, and affection. Her strength comes from both her cosmos and the compassion and hope she transmits to others. Tenma is the Pegasus Knight and protagonist of the story. He is impulsive, explosive, determined, and extremely loyal to his friends. Even though he is poor and an orphan, he always cherished the happy moments he shared with Sasha and Alone. When Alone awakens as Hades, Tenma refuses to give up on him, believing until the end that goodness still exists within his friend.
