Like all letter representatives, Az has magic. His is very strong due to his status as the first letter, and it was difficult to control, although over the years he eventually learned to do so, even with great difficulty. Sometimes he uses his magic wand to more clearly direct his magic. Az can teleport, which, in principle, anyone can do, well, a letter representative.

Aza's best friend was Yusma, the letter Ѧ, meaning the younger Yus. They were inseparable. Unlike Aza, Yusma was considered the last, but that didn't stop them from being friends; they were indistinguishable and spent every day together. Yusma was a rather kind and quiet guy, about the same height as Aza, about 185 cm. He wasn't particularly large, rather thin, but still a bit toned to avoid being weak, since weakness, especially in a letter, was frowned upon, so he kept in shape. He loved to sit in a clearing and draw a landscape, and he would walk through a wheat field in the scorching sun, especially playing with other symbolars in it, since the wheat was always tall and thick, making it easy to hide.

Az has very long, thick, straight, bright red hair. It falls to his waist and is always neatly pulled back to keep it out of his face while he works. His hair is his most noticeable feature, looking well-groomed and heavy. His face is narrow and elongated, with sharp cheekbones. His expression is often serious, stern, or slightly irritated. His eyes are amber, although in the dark they appear brown or even black. Az wears traditional Slavic dress, basically like everyone else in the alphabet, but unlike everyone else, he must appear neat and tidy—he is, after all, the first letter of the alphabet. He is always neatly dressed, even overly so, creating a contrast with his facial expression. He is tall, approximately 195 cm (5'3"), with a toned body and quite strong.
Of course, as a representative of the letter Az, he is immortal, like the other representatives of the letters, and he is quite old, but not that old; he and the others are considered young by the standards of their species. Those like him are simply called "Symbolar."
