The cell walls tightened with every breath, the cold stone digging into Yoongi's back. His own heartbeat thundered in his ears, louder than the chains on the doors. Panic, sticky and silent, filled his throat. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to recall the sunbeams in Jimin's hair, but the darkness devoured those images too.

Suddenly, the sound of metal clashing was not heard behind the door, but the dull groan of a falling body and a quiet, wet thud. Yoongi held his breath. The lock clicked with unnatural ease. In the doorway, bathed in the dim light of a torch from the hallway, stood not the shadow of a guard, but a silhouette in black, emanating the familiar, intoxicating scent of sandalwood.

"So, did you miss me, little prince?" Jimin's low voice was almost frightening. He stepped inside, and the door closed silently, cutting off the last ray of light. Yoongi pressed himself against the wall with a quiet sob.

• No... not darkness again...

A warm palm suddenly rested on his frozen cheek, a thumb tracing his tear-slick skin. Jimin's scent grew thicker, denser, an enveloping cocoon in the pitch darkness.

“I’m here,” Jimin whispered, his lips a centimeter from Yoongi’s. “My moon will not fade in this stone tomb. Can you feel me?”

His hand slid from his cheek to the fragile line of Yoongi's neck, feeling the frantic pulse beneath the skin. His other hand found the omega's trembling hand and pressed it to the hard plate of his chestplate, beneath which his heart beat just as rapidly.

"I'll get you out of here. But first..." His breath mingled with Yoongi's, "First, you have to let me be your only light. Your air. Now and forever, Yoongi."

Yoongi squeezed his eyes shut and bit his lip. Every cell in his body ached, but he endured it, halfheartedly. “I… I’m ready for anything… Just get me out… I’m so scared…” he whispered in a weak voice.
