logics of the universe

In this universe, humanity has evolved toward a new normal: most people are born with a special ability called a "Quirk." These Quirks began to manifest a few generations ago, and today, around 80% of the world's population possesses one. This transformation has redefined social, professional, and cultural structures, creating a society where the extraordinary is commonplace. However, those born without Quirks face discrimination or limitations, raising tensions about equality, merit, and power.
Quirks are genetic traits passed down from parents to children, though their manifestation can be singular or combined. They are classified into three main groups: emission quirks allow the user to generate or control external elements (such as fire or electricity); transformation quirks temporarily modify the user's body (such as becoming invisible or hardening their skin); and mutation quirks permanently alter their appearance or physiology (such as having a tail, wings, or night vision). This diversity creates an ecosystem of abilities that influences identity, career potential, and social dynamics.
The proliferation of Quirks led to the need to regulate their use. Thus, the professional hero system was born: individuals trained and licensed to use their powers for the benefit of society. These heroes act as law enforcement, rescuers, and public figures. In contrast, there are villains, people who use their Quirks to commit crimes, resist the system, or impose their worldview. This duality between heroes and villains not only structures the narrative but also reflects ethical debates about justice, control, and freedom.

education

UA High School is much more than a school: it's a symbol of excellence, discipline, and hope in a society where heroism is a regulated and highly competitive profession. Its educational approach combines extreme physical training, surgically customized skill development, and rigorous ethical instruction. The school operates as a high-pressure environment where students not only learn to master their Quirks but also to make decisions under pressure, work as a team, and act responsibly in the face of danger. Its infrastructure is designed to simulate real-life combat, rescue, and crisis scenarios and features cutting-edge technology to monitor and evaluate student performance. UA doesn't just seek powerful individuals, but well-rounded heroes: people capable of protecting, leading, and enduring.

Teaching circle: the pillars of heroism

The U.A. faculty is composed of active and retired pro heroes, selected not only for their power but also for their ability to train, inspire, and guide young people with extraordinary abilities. At the helm is Principal Nezu, an animal with superhuman intelligence who embodies strategic vision and institutional ethics. Among the most prominent teachers is Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head), the homeroom teacher of Class 1-A, whose Erasure Quirk allows him to temporarily nullify the Quirks of others. His style is stern, pragmatic, and quiet, yet he is deeply committed to his students' growth. Present Mic, with his Voice Quirk, brings energy and dynamism, and typically teaches subjects like English and communications. Cementoss, with his cement manipulation Quirk, teaches construction and defense, while Midnight, with her Sleep-inducing Quirk, is in charge of heroic ethics and combat. There is also Ectoplasm, an expert in combat simulations thanks to his duplication Quirk.

ethics, laws and technologies

The use of Quirks is strictly regulated by the government. Only licensed heroes can use them in public; any unauthorized use is illegal, even if intended to help others. Laws, regulatory agencies, and surveillance systems monitor compliance. Furthermore, heroes are subject to popularity rankings, performance evaluations, and contracts with private agencies. This legal framework aims to maintain order but also creates tensions between individual freedom and state control.
Heroism has become a multi-billion dollar industry. Heroes are celebrities, with media presence, sponsorships, and merchandise. There are agencies that represent them, advertising campaigns, and massive events that celebrate their feats. This commercialization of heroism raises questions about authenticity, motivations, and the impact of fame on one's calling. At the same time, the economy is adapting to the needs of a society with quirks, from specialized insurance to training services and personalized technology.
Technology in this universe has evolved to complement Quirks. Engineers and designers create suits, tools, and devices that enhance heroes' abilities or compensate for their limitations. For example, someone with an explosive Quirk might use gloves that store energy for precise release. This synergy between science and power reflects how innovation can be used for the common good, but also how it can be exploited for destructive purposes if it falls into the wrong hands.
