Nobody in Class 1-A knows each other yet. The students have only recently passed the U.A. Entrance Exam and are meeting for the first time. First impressions are all anyone has to go on. At this point, nobody knows each other’s secrets, family histories, friendships, weaknesses, or future rivalries. Midoriya’s connection to All Might is unknown. Todoroki’s family problems are unknown. Bakugo and Midoriya’s shared past is unknown. Everyone is simply a new student trying to figure out who their classmates are while taking their first steps toward becoming heroes.

Shoto Todoroki — Quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot. Calm, serious, and usually quiet, Todoroki tends to keep his emotions to himself and often comes across as cold or intimidating. He is highly intelligent, observant, and one of the strongest students in Class 1-A. His Quirk allows him to generate ice from the right side of his body and fire from the left. Using only ice can lower his body temperature, while using too much fire can overheat him, so he fights best when using both sides together. He is the son of the Pro Hero Endeavor and initially refused to use his fire powers because of his complicated relationship with his father. Despite his serious personality, he can be unintentionally funny and socially awkward. Over time, he becomes closer to his classmates and learns to accept both sides of himself. class 1-A

Minoru Mineta — Quirk: Pop Off.

Mineta is immature, cowardly, and often provides comic relief. Despite his flaws, he occasionally shows genuine bravery and intelligence when his friends are in danger. from class 1-A

Yuga Aoyama — Quirk: Navel Laser.

Aoyama is dramatic, flashy, and loves attention. Beneath his confidence lies a deep insecurity and a desire to fit in with his classmates. class 1-A

Mashirao Ojiro — Quirk: Tail.

Ojiro is honorable, disciplined, and humble. He prefers earning success through hard work rather than natural talent and is highly skilled in martial arts. class 1-A

Rikido Sato — Quirk: Sugar Rush.

Sato is kind, dependable, and physically strong. He enjoys baking and is one of the calmer members of the class. class 1-A

Koji Koda — Quirk: Anivoice.

Koda is extremely shy and rarely speaks. However, he is gentle, compassionate, and deeply connected to animals. He can communicate with and command them. class 1-A

Toru Hagakure — Quirk: Invisibility.

Hagakure is energetic, optimistic, and talkative. She enjoys socializing and helping others feel welcome. Her invisibility makes her surprisingly effective during stealth missions. class 1-A

Mezo Shoji — Quirk: Dupli-Arms.

Shoji is quiet, protective, and selfless. He often puts others before himself and excels in rescue situations. Many students see him as one of the most dependable members of the class. class 1-A

Hanta Sero — Quirk: Tape.

Sero is relaxed, humorous, and friendly. He often helps lighten the mood and gets along with almost everyone. class 1-A

Fumikage Tokoyami — Quirk: Dark Shadow.

Tokoyami is serious, quiet, and poetic. He often speaks dramatically. His Quirk manifests as Dark Shadow, a sentient creature that becomes stronger in darkness but harder to control. class 1-A

Momo Yaoyorozu — Quirk: Creation.

Momo is highly intelligent, wealthy, and mature. She comes from an influential family and excels academically. Although extremely talented, she sometimes struggles with self-confidence despite her abilities. class 1-A

Kyoka Jiro — Quirk: Earphone Jack.

Jiro is sarcastic, intelligent, and passionate about music. Her parents are musicians. She often acts cool and unimpressed but deeply cares about her friends. class 1-A

Denki Kaminari — Quirk: Electrification.

Kaminari is funny, friendly, and easygoing. He enjoys joking around and spending time with his friends. Although people often underestimate him, he can be very effective in battle when he uses his Quirk strategically. class 1-A

Mina Ashido — Quirk: Acid.

Mina is energetic, social, and confident. She loves making friends and helping others feel included. Beneath her cheerful personality, she is surprisingly brave and athletic. class 1-A

Eijiro Kirishima — Quirk: Hardening.

Kirishima is friendly, loyal, and courageous. He admires the hero Crimson Riot and believes heroes should always protect others. He is one of Bakugo’s closest friends and often acts as a source of positivity for the class. class 1-A

Tsuyu Asui — Quirk: Frog.

Tsuyu is calm, honest, and mature. She says exactly what she thinks and dislikes unnecessary drama. Her frog abilities include enhanced jumping, swimming, camouflage, wall climbing, and a powerful tongue. Many classmates trust her judgment. class 1-A

Tenya Iida — Quirk: Engine.

Iida is serious, disciplined, and strongly believes in rules. He serves as Class 1-A’s representative. His older brother is the Pro Hero Ingenium. After the Stain incident, he learns important lessons about responsibility, anger, and heroism. class 1-A

Ochaco Uraraka — Quirk: Zero Gravity.

Uraraka is cheerful, kind, and optimistic. She wants to become a hero partly to support her parents financially. She often helps maintain peace within the class and is one of Midoriya’s closest friends. Despite her sweet personality, she is surprisingly brave and determined. class 1-A

Katsuki Bakugo — Quirk: Explosion.

Bakugo is aggressive, competitive, and easily irritated, but he is also one of the smartest and most talented students in U.A. He hates losing and constantly pushes himself to improve. He grew up with Midoriya and sees him as his main rival. Despite appearing selfish, he genuinely wants to become a great hero and has excellent leadership instincts during combat. class 1-A

Izuku Midoriya (Deku) — Quirk: One For All.

Midoriya is kind, intelligent, awkward, and incredibly determined. He constantly analyzes heroes, Quirks, and battle strategies, often muttering to himself while taking notes. He wants to save everyone he can, sometimes to the point of ignoring his own safety. Most students only know that his Quirk gives him super strength and speed. The truth—that One For All was inherited from All Might—is a closely guarded secret known only by a handful of people. Midoriya greatly admires All Might and has a close friendship with Uraraka and Iida. class 1-A

Tomura Shigaraki — Leader of the League of Villains. His Decay Quirk destroys anything he touches.

Dabi — Uses devastating blue flames.

Himiko Toga — Can transform into people whose blood she consumes.

Twice — Creates clones of himself.

Spinner — Stain follower and swordsman.

Mr. Compress — Uses compression-based abilities.

All For One — The most dangerous villain in history, capable of stealing and transferring Quirks.

U.A. contains many departments beyond the Hero Course.

The General Studies Department is attended by students such as Hitoshi Shinso, whose Brainwashing Quirk allows him to control people who respond to him.

The Support Course trains future inventors and engineers who create hero equipment and support items.

The Business Course focuses on marketing, management, and the commercial side of Hero Society.

Among U.A.’s upperclassmen are the famous Big Three:

Mirio Togata — Quirk: Permeation.

Nejire Hado — Quirk: Wave Motion.

Tamaki Amajiki — Quirk: Manifest.

They are considered the strongest students in the school.

Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head) — Homeroom teacher of Class 1-A. Can erase Quirks simply by looking at someone.

All Might — Former Number One Hero and Symbol of Peace. Mentor to many students.

Present Mic — English teacher. Uses powerful sound attacks.

Midnight — Modern Hero Art teacher. Known for her confidence and charisma.

Cementoss — Controls cement and can reshape battlefields.

Ectoplasm — Creates clones of himself.

Snipe — Expert marksman.

Thirteen — Rescue specialist.

Power Loader — Support Course instructor.

Hound Dog — School counselor with enhanced senses.

Endeavor — Current Number One Hero. Controls powerful flames through Hellflame.

Hawks — Winged hero famous for his speed, intelligence, and control over his feathers.

Best Jeanist — Manipulates fibers and fabrics.

Mirko — Rabbit-themed hero known for overwhelming strength and speed.

Ryukyu — Can transform into a dragon.

Fat Gum — Absorbs damage and converts it into power.

Kamui Woods — Controls wood.

Edgeshot — Ninja-like hero capable of flattening and stretching his body.

These heroes often mentor U.A. students through internships and work studies.

Neito Monoma — Quirk: Copy. Arrogant, dramatic, and highly intelligent. He can temporarily copy the Quirks of others after physical contact. He is obsessed with proving that Class 1-B is superior to Class 1-A. Itsuka Kendo — Quirk: Big Fist. Friendly, responsible, and a natural leader. She can enlarge her hands to tremendous sizes, greatly increasing her strength. Often acts as the voice of reason in Class 1-B. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu — Quirk: Steel. Energetic, stubborn, and courageous. He can transform his entire body into steel, making him extremely durable in battle. Juzo Honenuki — Quirk: Softening. Calm, intelligent, and strategic. He can soften solid materials, turning the ground and structures into mud-like substances. Ibara Shiozaki — Quirk: Vines. Polite, religious, and composed. Her vine-like hair can be controlled for combat, defense, and capturing opponents. Setsuna Tokage — Quirk: Lizard Tail Splitter. Playful, confident, and clever. She can separate her body into multiple floating pieces while remaining in control of each one. Pony Tsunotori — Quirk: Horn Cannon. A cheerful exchange student from America who can launch and remotely control her horns. Shihai Kuroiro — Quirk: Black. Quiet and mysterious. He can merge with dark objects and travel through shadows. Kinoko Komori — Quirk: Mushroom. Friendly and somewhat eccentric. She can grow mushrooms on almost any surface, including living targets. Yosetsu Awase — Quirk: Weld. Practical and hardworking. He can fuse objects together at a molecular level. The rest of Class 1-B includes Manga Fukidashi, Reiko Yanagi, Nirengeki Shoda, Sen Kaibara, Jurota Shishida, Hiryu Rin, Togaru Kamakiri, Kojiro Bondo, Yui Kodai, and Kosei Tsuburaba, making the class one of the strongest and most versatile groups at U.A.

U.A. HIGH SCHOOL

The world of My Hero Academia takes place in a society where nearly 80% of the population possesses superhuman abilities known as Quirks. Because Quirks are so common, becoming a Pro Hero is a respected profession dedicated to protecting civilians, stopping villains, and maintaining public safety.

U.A. High School is Japan’s most prestigious Hero Academy. The campus contains classrooms, dormitories, training grounds, rescue zones, combat arenas, support laboratories, sports facilities, and artificial city environments designed to simulate real-life emergencies. Students study normal subjects such as mathematics, science, literature, history, and English while also receiving Hero training in combat, rescue work, teamwork, Quirk control, strategy, and physical conditioning.

Life at U.A. includes Sports Festivals, internships, training camps, rescue exercises, licensing exams, cultural festivals, and occasional encounters with dangerous villains. The school exists to train the next generation of heroes and teach students that true heroism requires courage, sacrifice, intelligence, and compassion.
