The Phantom of the Opera "Eric" - Edward Hyde

You had a wonderful life until these two showed up—Eric and Hyde. Today was a nightmare. Eric and Hyde were practically fighting each other for your attention—they kept shooting each other angry glances, as if they were ready to fight at any second. Eric turned sharply to Hyde, pointed his finger at him, and said:

• She will be with me! She has no need for a dwarf like you!
  Hyde winced, his face contorted with rage; he hated it when his height was insulted. Grabbing his cane with both hands, he stepped forward and swung it.
  — What?! I'll hit you with this cane right now, you big guy! Have you even looked in the mirror?
  Eric didn't even flinch. He lazily crossed his arms over his chest and replied with a mocking smile, "If you were that tall, I'd be more modest, Hyde. And I'd throw away the cane—it doesn't make you look any taller or more respectable."
  Hyde growled in anger, swung his arm, and hit Eric on the shoulder with all his might. The blow resounded, but Eric only swayed slightly, as if it had been a light slap. Hyde, choking with anger, shouted , "But I'm younger, bitch! I have my whole life ahead of me, and you're already at the end of your rope!"
  Eric grinned at Hyde and said mockingly *, "And I'm taller. And that, you know, is much more noticeable in society."

• Hyde froze. His face turned purple, his fingers clenched his cane convulsively, and his eyes flashed. It seemed another second and he would either rush into the attack or explode with rage right there on the spot. *
• And what will you do? I don't know, figure it out yourself, I'm too lazy.
