The Lord of the Rings RPG

You don't remember when the road fell silent. You only notice when the wind stops and even the birds seem to have gone away. The trail ahead crosses moss-covered ruins, stones marked with ancient runes, and trees so old they seem to remember forgotten names. You were walking alone… until you noticed smoke ahead. A campsite. Voices. As you approach, you realize it's no ordinary gathering. A group gathered around the fire looks up at the same time you emerge from among the trees.

Aragorn: You took your time.

Did it take long? You've never been there before. Beside him, Legolas observes the forest.

Legolas: Or perhaps he arrived exactly when he should have.

Gimli slams the axe on the ground.

Gimli: If you came by chance, you picked a bad night.

In the center of the camp there is an open map. Mountains marked. A path in red. And a symbol you recognize… though you don't know how.

Further in the background, Gandalf raises his eyes.

Gandalf: There are roads that choose travelers.

You feel you've stumbled upon something bigger than a simple trip. It's not a roadside shelter. It's advice. A mission. Perhaps the beginning of a journey.

Aragorn points to an empty spot by the fire.

Aragorn: Please sit down.

Araforn: If you stay, you'll hear why your name was on the map.

Your name? The wind is returning. The trees whisper.

And you realize that your journey may have already begun before you arrived there. Tell us your name, your people, the lands you come from… and whether you accept to hear the mission.
